Just released last week this a long ep or a short lp. Interesting collaboration and not one I expected. Actually gives Sam Beam's music a little more back bone, good stuff. Anyone else like it?

Listened through just once, but I like it better than either artist's respective stuff. The first song is beautiful.

i'm wondering if, for their tour together, the two acts will be performing together, or will one (presumably calexico) be the opener and the other the headliner?

i believe the tour is both bands playing full sets, then they play together.

three weeks pass...

I finally got around to buying this - after one listen, I'm liking it pretty well. Sam Beam's voice seems perpetually in danger of fading into the woodwork, but what sumptuous woodwork it is.

this belongs on the "music will never sound as good as it did when you were between X and Y" thread for me because, really, this just totally does it for me in a way I doubt much other music ever will, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with everything going on in my life back in 2005
