Yahoo Group closed down and website is dead: http://www.bulbrecords.com

I thought because they were a New Orleans label (I thought), but I just recently saw the address on Grunnenrocks and it has a Michigan address, not Louisianna.

eeek! They were a label run out of whereever Pete was living (Japan, Providence, Michigan), but I thought he was still in Michigan.....

I don't know that he ever moved to Louisiana. I had just always thought Bulb was located there for some reason. So, at first, I thought his webservers might've gotten washed away. But, then I found the MI address.

Last I knew he was living about two blocks away from the house where I grew up, in rural Michigan. Why he moved there I have no idea. I've never met the guy. Friend of mine who also grew up in that town met him at a show up in Detroit a few weeks ago, and apparently he loves living there (adrian)! go figure.

Yeah never in Louisiana. You are thinking about Quintron or MC Trach-- both previous Bulb artists and colleagues maybe? Pete and Fumie live out in the sort of boonies in Adrian... I guess I'm not surprised about the label not being such a big interest for him anymore, but I want to know the real story.

I talked to Pete about two weeks ago, and he was talking about how his record company was just gettin' killed. A lot of the small distributors that he was using were going under, and the ability of people to find things on the internet meant that he just couldn't compete anymore. But still, he was talking about the records he was about to release (there was supposed to be a new 25 Suaves too)so I'd bet this is a temporary thing for him.
He works at VG Kids, so maybe I'll give them a call...
