Still any good? I last saw em at CBGB in '91 and they kicked ass, and I see they're playing the 9:30 Club in DC Friday (in case I don't land a nice man my first night in town).

I imagine not a lot has changed; the last time I saw them was about '95.

I remember when Mary left school to join the band; she was kind of a hero for that.

When I saw them a few years ago it was a great show. They draw enough in Austin to take up a 5 night residence at the Continental Club once a year, for whatever it's worth.

I saw them in '96 or '97, I believe... but not since. As mentioned above, though, I imagine not a lot has changed.

And maybe you'll get a chicken snack.

I think all the above have nailed it. Last time I saw them was in Cleveland in oh 1994 or so at the Euclid Tavern. Great fun and I can't see any reason why that wouldn't still be the case today. Hell I was even debating going to that show at the 9:30 myself, but other plans have cropped up.

Saw them last December...they were down to a three piece...still fun and rockin' as ever, obligatory fried chicken-throwing and all.

Wow, I don't remember fried chicken 14 years ago. If there are tix at the door maybe I'll go.

saw them in 96 (?) and it was a great show.
got a little out of hand. hugely fat shirtless guy getting fried chicken rubdown onstage by drunken rock chicks.....
good fun all around.

eighteen years pass...

Saw them last night and hot damn, for a band that has been going 30+ years they still bring incredible energy. Rick Miller took some lengthy solos that approached Yo La Tengo levels of guitar skronk.
