LADYTRON - NO MORE ALBUMS...

I have it on, well, dubious authority, that witching hour will be last album by Liverpool's premier synth-poppers. Sad? happy? True? Bullshit? My source is a scouser if that gives the rumour any credibility... Me a little weepy. Hopefully not so, but would be interested if anyone else has any info or has heard this.

Reckon the constant lack of airplay and due recognition eventually takes it toll. Bit of a shame if true.

i liked them a lot, and not just because i'm a boy. all those poor electro-clash groups... identifying with a musical trend can bring nothing but heartache, especially when it's wholly a fabrication of some fat, balding DJ. and ladytron were really the best of the bunch, weren't they?

ha ha

well done Ladytron for rejecting the dated album format, or something.

ELECTRO-CASH GEDDIT?

ZZZZ, Wednesday, 21 September 2005 15:26 (twenty years ago)

How is the album format any more dated than the single format?

That's the second time I-F has posted here this year!

Perhaps it isn't.

I don't know why they'd quit now. The new album is fantastic and I want to hear more. Also, they seem to be getting more recognition. The goths on myspace are loving "Destroy Everything You Touch."

i interviewed them last week. since witching hour has technically been completed for over a year (it was held up due to the fact that both their uk and us labels dissolved while they were making it), they are already well into their next record. or at least, that's what they told me.

The man who signed them has already left Island so I can't imagine they'll be a priority there. Good album though

one year passes...
So was it really their last album?

Considering I just saw them last week opening for NIN, I kinda doubt it.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 16 March 2007 14:01 (eighteen years ago)

so witching hour is already like three or four years old? wow

akm, Saturday, 17 March 2007 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

It came out in October 2005, so, uh, it's about 1.5 years old

Geez, Reznor is becoming the king of picking support acts I enjoy and the bulk of his fans probably want to throw things at. The most withering look of digust I've ever gotten (from anyone who wasn't my mom) was a few years ago when a couple coworkers saw Dresden Dolls open for him and came in the next day and said "you LIKE that band???"

nabisco, Saturday, 17 March 2007 06:35 (eighteen years ago)

i dunno the audience seemed to really like them when i saw NIN a coouple years ago (dresden dolls that is, no idea how they'd respond to ladytron)
