"There's more than one car with stickers on"

Rice/Lloyd-Webber's best pop moment, maybe?

#3 in 1980.

Just to remind younger readers what I said about it pre-Sean Rowley...

I have drunkenly sung this on many occasions too.

Has this been tested at Poptimism?

― Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Thursday, 29 September 2005 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Astonishingly not given how many Poptimism regulars have lustily joined in said singalongs.

There must be a good hi-energu version of this knocking around from the early eighties.

If not, WHY NOT!

Well the Marti Webb version is no ballad Pete, it's probably more swayable than danceable I grant you.

― Tom (Groke), Thursday, 29 September 2005 09:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably the only danceable item in the Lloyd Webber pop canon, not counting Bombalurina or Doctor Spin, which I'm definitely not.

There was an early 1980s Hi-NRG cover of "Memory" - by Menage, I think it was. It was rather in the style of the Boystown Gang: lots of girlie strings and stuff.

I have also danced in public to David Essex "Oh What A Circus" in the last six months.

Crikey, she sounds a bit like Our Cilla on that, doesn't she? Hadn't spotted that before.
