BON JOVI - HAVE A NICE DAY

Now I don't actually like the music of Bon Jovi in any way, and never have. But after reading the previous thread and seeing the reaction that lead to the thread being locked due to an obvious bias against the guy's cheesy music, I just thought that the thread should be retitled and treated a little more fairly.
The poster was making conversation about their upcoming single and disc. Though it's nothing I have any interest in, I wonder if it really should have been locked due to a previous thread from 2002 (again 2002, three years ago dealing with BON JOVI classic or dud) because this subject was obviously referring to a NEW ALBUM. So ...

He stills looks good. I flipped past VH1 today and saw the end of the video. I thought it was some video from 1985. Song wasn't too good though.

I simply cannot imagine anyone getting excited about this.

I couldn't give a rat's ass about Bon Jovi, but locking threads due to musical taste makes no sense at all. There's plenty of other threads about crap music, one more isn't going to kill anyone and likely there are people here who DO care about BJ. Let 'em have their fun, I say.

if we locked threads due to musical taste we'd have to lock every thread ever. but i presumed that one was locked because it was obviously planted by a label street teamer, and it was a particularly lame plant at that. or maybe it was meant as a parody of that sort of thing. in which case it was genius and should have been allowed to live.

as for bon jovi, a perfectly good singles band, but it's been a while since they've had a perfectly good one.

And that I chose the former interpretation is something which will not trouble my sleep at night.

MY MOM has heard the new single. (It was apparently performed on Oprah's show.) MY MOM likes said new single. MY MOM is not particularly interested in rock & roll. Ergo, I think I'll have to pass on this.

Their recent output is much better since they hired Max Martin as a ghostwriter.

And while all the other bands of the genre have died, they have survived. Give credit where it's due. Most the bands that are around today wont be in ten years.

This is truly one of the worst album covers ever.

Do you think Jon Bon Jovi has a decal of that album cover affixed to the back window of his truck?

His music isn't for me, but I've heard so many great things about him through friends working at non-profits that I've made a point never to badmouth him. This local organization alone (which he founded) sounds pretty amazing.

I don't play them, but I enjoy it when my friends enjoy their music, like if I'm hanging out in someone's backyard and they want to crank up one of the hits (and sing along with the chorus, etc.)

birdistheword, Thursday, 12 September 2024 20:51 (one year ago)

i am a fan but watching the blurry video i think credit goes to the woman (producer? maybe) who did all the talking. imo Jon is just drafting off her good work lol
