I looooooove the Wolfgang Press." and i never knew that about my mom. HAs your mom or dad ever surprised you with their musical choice?

Hey, another idea I was going to use for CTCL. Dammit! STOP READING MY MIND. ;-)

My mom surprised me recently with an appreciation for zydeco. Pretty cool of her, I have to say.

My parents are goth freaks. They sit at home, put on mascara and black long flowing dresses, the curtains drawn, listening to the Mamas & Papas backwards. Well, I told you they were freaks.

Hoooboy, my children are going to hate me. I think having a music nerd for a parent would be very distressing to a child..

This isn't exactly in the surprise category, but sometimes my father used to drive around blasting rock and roll (generic) in order to stay awake. He has a mild sleep disorder and has been known to occasionally doze off at red lights. So anyway, his main use for rock and roll is to play it really loud in the car when he's driving by himself and there's no one around to keep him awake. He also would shout at himself in the car (when driving alone) for the same reason. (He can't drive currently, for health reasons, not sleep related.)

I had forgotten for years that my dad was a big Tom Waits fan.

My mom is totally into D-Plan. It's ridiculous. Some kid walked into her office with some headphones on, and she asked to hear what he was listening to, and she loved it. She went out and bought Emergency & I and listened to it for 3 months straight.

My mother's undying fondness for Steven Tyler's vocal technique really, really disturbs me.

My mom likes things like Kylie and Pink and Britney but doesn't know it cos she can't tell you a gosh darned thing about any artist she listens to.
