makes me actually want to use the word 'skanking' in its other context, without cringing. anyway, i reckon its a top rocking tune and that, but how good do you think it is? inauthentic reggae cry the detractors? well, maybe, yeah, but, you know, like, hell, so what? so, do you see it fitting in anywhere with that scene, or totally as an outsiders/interlopers foray? does that invalidate it in anyway? and why was it emaciated for the album version?

so, answer these questions, and ask some better ones too.

I think it's a brilliant track - it uses reggae rather than being reggae, which sidesteps questions of authenticity. And yes such a shame it was truncated for the album.

Now you tell me. I'll have to look for the single.

The album cut is one of the biggest teases ever, with the kickoff reverb craziness of the (Mad Prof?) dub mix screeching to a halt for the "song proper".

The cruelty kind of fits with the album though. To me at least, Wilmot's on a concept album about the memory of good times rather than the good times themselves.

I really liked the 12" single. I never really heard any of their other music. The word 'reggae' would not come to mind in describing the song, however. Well, maybe the bassline.
