Seattle Question about Nuemos...

I'm going to Dungen/Mia Doi Todd tomorrow, but I can't get there until about 9:30.

The show is listed as starting at 8:00: but what time does a the headliner usually go on? It's all-ages in the balcony, so I'm a little worried it's one of those "on time" starting shows.

There is no third band listed, but I'm not sure about that either.

Clearly I need to get out more...

I believe, though I'm not sure, that weeknight all-ages shows in rock clubs have to be over by midnight in Seattle.

The usual 21+ shows at Neumo's don't start until after nine.

At the last all-ages show I saw there the headliner went on around 10-10:30.

Piece together what you will from that. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have a ticket.

Donut?

fwiw, i made the (uhhh...) mistake of seeing dungen on saturday at an all ages venue. the show was listed as starting at 7:30 (7:30?!) but dungen didn't go on until 10, and that's with just mia doi todd opening. it wasn't very crowded, which was too bad for them, but nice for me as it meant i could go to sleep against the back wall with a nice wrought iron rail to use as a pillow.

Well, I was at the legendary "FUCK NEUMO'S" show where they herded all the under 21 people on the balcony for the Pinback/Pleaseeasaur show earlier this year... There was almost a boycott of the venue from the teen set. I actually don't blame them! Neither do the promoters, but it was an owners' decision. That was the first and last time that ever happened.

So, unless the owners are really stupid, if you're under 21, you should have access to the floor. Well, now that the Bad Juju Lounge has now taken up the slim bar part of the space, there is no chance *at all* at the herding thing. So problem solved.

As for the on-time thing.. I dunno, dude. Neumo's isn't the Vera Project.. and this isn't a lineup with a gazillion bands. That said, don't try to be too fashionably late. I'd be *very* surprised if you missed Dungen by getting there by 9:30pm... check to see if Dungen are playing a late show at a 21+ place somewhere else in town the same night. If so, then you best get to Neumo's by 9:30pm.. otherwise, relax.

On the Nuemos calender it says 21+ and "all ages balcony", so I'm thinking that's the case.

I'm not anywhere near 21, so I don't care about that, I just don't want to get caught in an early start time and miss Dungen.

Fashionably late? You make too many assumptions, my friend, unless you call having to attend a Parent-Teacher night at my son's Pre-School "fashionable".

Thanks for the info all.

Um, I wasn't assuming you were a fashionably late person! I was just saying it wouldn't be a good idea if you wanted to be fashionably late.. that's all.
