Thats how you get permission to pull this type of lame crap? By knowing the words to Devin's songs? Pathetic.
...No no, he's not mocking someone else's race; I saw him post "Young Jeezy is so gully" on a blog, so he's completely legit...

Nick Diamonds new solo album, I Am An Attic, free (if you want) on bandcamp is pretty good!
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Wednesday, 13 July 2011 16:08 (fourteen years ago)
How's the new album? I haven't heard a whole lot of talk about it.
― stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 7 March 2012 17:38 (fourteen years ago)
Pretty boring as far as I remember. The label was even hesitant to release it from what I've heard.
― Evan, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 18:04 (fourteen years ago)
That probably explains why the coverage has been pretty quiet.

pitchfork gave it a good review

got around to listening to this latest album. it's boring.
― Poliopolice, Friday, 8 June 2012 19:16 (thirteen years ago)
typical "broke up with my longtime girlfriend" confessional crap; the first album is a lot of fun, this is a drag.

love Return to the Sea, what happened :(

i saw the latest incarnation of Islands last week. i have to say that it was kind of depressing. The crowd was excited to hear stuff from albums 1 and 2, but after that... well, not so much. Now, I'm not that familiar with anything after albums 1 and 2 but the songs I didn't recognize at this show seemed really dull.
― Poliopolice, Thursday, 17 October 2013 16:53 (twelve years ago)
"Return to the Sea" is a very diverse and very good album; it really should have gotten more attention.
also, Nick Diamonds was acting weird at the beginning of the show, grabbing other peoples' beers and drinking them, and doing pushups on the main floor. it was all theater, i suppose, but it kind of felt like he was trolling to alleviate his own boredom with the concert routine.
― Poliopolice, Thursday, 17 October 2013 17:00 (twelve years ago)
very little promotion for the last 3 albums for some reason. perhaps they need a better label?
― Van Horn Street, Thursday, 17 October 2013 17:22 (twelve years ago)
There was some issue with the label refusing to release the record prior... don't really remember the details.
― Evan, Thursday, 17 October 2013 17:30 (twelve years ago)
it's not exactly a return to sea, but all the same this is a nice single

(it's "old", perhaps there's an active islands thread somewhere or it's been mentioned in rolling indie?)
