Haven't Beatles 45s been perpetually in print for 30-40 years?

Mike Dixn (Mike Dixon), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:23 (twenty years ago)

Continuosly?

All the Black Flag 7"s are still in print

Old School (sexyDancer), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:29 (twenty years ago)

Continuously?
That's my question, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the answer was "yes".
I'm thinking that the demand for jukebox singles probably sustained the format through most of the '90s, and they're def. in print right now.

To toot my own horn for a second: the VPN single at http://www.darkbelovedcloud.com/ came out in 1992. Still awesome. Still selling off the first and only pressing...

sliver b/w dive?

jb, Friday, 7 October 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

I'm such a rump.
I read the first answer as "silver" and I was all "whaa?"

jb, Friday, 7 October 2005 17:36 (twenty years ago)

Beyond out of print doesn't make 7-inch singles or any other records "unavailable," and never has. So yeah, I could name thousands...

xhuxk, Friday, 7 October 2005 17:39 (twenty years ago)

"Being" out of print, I mean

xhuxk, Friday, 7 October 2005 17:39 (twenty years ago)

There are tons of singles from the 50s and 60s that are in print, but they're reissues, does that count? A lot of the other singles mentioned above are as well I think.

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Friday, 7 October 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

There are many hundreds (possibly thousands) of Jamaican 7"s which have never really been out of print - going back as far as the early 60's. These aren't "reissues" in the sense that they've been around consistently, aside from brief periods when they were out of stock. Probably 100+ on Studio One alone!

Beta (abeta), Friday, 7 October 2005 20:32 (twenty years ago)
