Hard-Fi "Hard to Beat " sounds like?

I love this song but the more I listen to it, the more I hear something very familiar in the vocal line, the melody, the production - ripped directly from an early 80s track. But I just can't place it. Can anyone help?

The melody always reminds me of Prefab Sprout.

The vocal delivery reminds me of Joe Jackson in some places, and Damon Albarn in others.

Wow, I didn't think it possible, but you guys are right. It really is very Prefab Sprout. Sort of like if Radio 4 doing "King Of Rock 'N' Roll." Which, sadly, would be a big improvement for Radio 4.

'Living For The Weekend' sounds an awful lot like Mansun.

It always reminds me of Underworld for some reason.

I can't actually answer the question, BUT the title track of the album ("Stars of CCTV") lifts its opening meldoy line almost directly from The Mighty Wah's "Come Back" ("Down by the streets the talking turned").
