can we please start with a brief summary of the other thread? it's kind of long.

Cheek0 (Cheek0), Saturday, 8 October 2005 17:45 (twenty years ago)

Confounded? Hurting? Somebody care to explain?
FWIW, I'm putting in a vote for this thread to be a bit more kind and gentle to our hero. She's having a bad day.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

we need a Marissa Cliff Notes thread.

it was a different shark (wetmink2), Saturday, 8 October 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

well, getting in this thread on the ground floor... is marissa still going at it on these boards? i couldn't bear to even peek in on the other 1200+ post thread

ken taylrr has gone off the internet because of you (ken taylrr), Saturday, 8 October 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, put my vote down for a "In our last Episode"-style summary. I've seen a little of either her or someone riffing on her, but I got no inclination to wade through that leviathon thread...

The Marissa Marchant Cliff Notes, Installment 1
Saturday, 8 October 2005

Preamble: While I believe that a complete and clear summation of the previous thread would be a huge disservice to all parties involved, a fond rumination -- even a chronological rumination -- on the last month and a half of Marissa madness could potentially be beneficial, and is thus forthcoming.

My personal sentiments on each occasion will appear in brackets follow the event.

The scene: Marissa has taken her web site and songs off the net, in all likelihood because of you. She is moving to a new home, and waiting for her new Avalon.

Aug. 23: Forksclovetofu asks for a deck of cards, or perhaps a pig picture. [Mood: Pensive]

Aug. 24: Marissafan2 reminds us what the Fan Club logo looks like: subtle, effective. [Moody: Giddy]

Aug. 30: While we have enjoyed a week of brotherhood, there has been no sign of our artist. We enjoy some wine, but secretly we are hurting and missing Marissa. [Mood: Barren]

Aug. 31: We delve into Marissa's past messages, on the Cat Stevens fan site, Voy Forum, and the All Fishing Message Center. (?!) [Mood: Reflective]

Sep. 7: Confounded (me) proposes a Charlie's Angels party for the Fan Club. It is one of our dear leader's favorite flicks, you know!! [Mood: Party!!!]

Sep. 8: First appearance of our leader on new thread, two weeks after it began. She is in good health and back on the net because of you at 85 wpm. 20% of sentences are complete, 70% fragmentary and 10% never you. [Mood: Ecstacy]

Sep. 8: Marissa questions the intent of the Fan Club, as well as where the funds are going. [Mood: Coke party!!!]

Sep. 8: General discussion of Amy Grant, Shawn Colvin, Bruce Hornsby, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Yo Yo Ma. [Mood: Totally bored]

Sep. 8: Joseph Cotten and Confounded (me) doubt the veracity of the new Marissa. [Mood: Tokin' into paranoia]

Sep. 8 (an eventful day, yes?): An explosion of nasty messages regarding Marissa (from fake aliases like Darren Holmes and Priscilla Hernandez). Many reflect Marissa's own staccato typing style, and are figures from her past. [Mood: OMGWTF]

Sep. 9: Yo Yo Ma posts on the Marissa thread for the first time. [Mood: 'Hey, what's up, Yo Yo?']

Sep. 12: Ryan has a rich father, yet he is not yet famous. Marissa, what is he doing wrong? [Mood: OMGWTFAGAIN]

Sep. 13: The weakling Baaderonixx tries to get Marissa to leave her fan club and go to ILE. [Mood: 'You are a big weakling, Baaderonixx.']

Sep. 13: Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck's collaborator, posts on the fan club site. He is surlier than he needs to be! [Mood: Cool to the touch]

Sep. 14: Kingfish Superman Ice Cream encourages Marissa to start a blog, but Marissa is cool with already having her own Fan Club. [Mood: Yeehaws.]

Sep. 15: A fake Confounded posts a message saying, "Confounded, there only accomplishment is to post a photo of a pig." [Mood: 'Marissa, you are good at many things, but disguising your identity is not one of them.']

Sep. 15: The weakling Baaderonixx attempts to start a rival Fan Club. Confounded and Pablo toy with this club like two cats toy with a mouse. Then they leave it for dead. [Mood: Rulin'!!!]

Sep. 17: Forksclovetofu offers Marissa one million dollars to sleep with her wife, but Marissa only laughs. [Mood: It's cool]

Sep. 19: Marissa posts a picture of the young Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, declaring him her new romantic interest. A generation of men is saddened. [Mood: Saddened, again for the first time.]

Sep. 19: The illustrious Pablo Alphonse shows the Fan Club the new Marissa Marchant hoodies. [Mood: Happy!! Stoked!!]

Sep. 20: Marissa has Justin Hayward on the mind, big time. [Mood: Jealous]

Sep. 23: Confounded and Pablo plan the annual MMFC party. It will be a pizza and coke party at California Pizza Kitchen, and it is agreed that Pablo will cut the lines because his name is "Pablo Alphonse" and that's pretty cool, right? [Mood: Party!!!!]

Sep. 26: Pablo et al reason with Marissa to give us the details of her new site (it is apparently under a new name). We fail. We want to hear the re-recording "Emu". [Mood: Okay]

Sep. 26: Confounded explains to Marissa that he is different than all the other guys. (He is.) [Mood: Truth-lovin']

Sep. 28: Confounded writes a song for Marissa, about Marissa. It is gorgeous. (It is.) [Mood: Passionate]

Sep. 28: Marissa doubts the identities of several members of her fan club, but she presents zero evidence. [Mood: Rulin']

Sep. 28: 1001 posts! [Mood: Rulin' in your schoolin'!!!]

Sep. 29: Marissa's thoughts on libido. She has the high libido problem. [Mood: Horndoggies at the gate]

Sep. 30: Day of comic genius from Pablo and Confounded. [Mood: Genius]

Sep. 30: A pig would appear to be jumping from a small wooden dock into a rural lake. [Mood: OMGWTF]

Oct. 3: Marissa feels spurned by Justin, and dismisses him. [Mood: Hopeful]

Oct. 3: Someone says Justin Hayward is a decent six and half inches down there. [Mood: Okay]

Oct. 4: Confounded posts a picture showing that Justin Hayward has multiple chins. How can you love a man with multiple chins? [Mood: Truth-lovin']

Oct. 4: Marissa believes all in her fan club are fakes -- this hurts their feelings. She says Confounded (me) is Lyin' Dan or Brian Moore, or both. [Mood: OMGWTFSAD]

Oct. 4: Marissa's last post ever. Confounded's last post ever. SURPRISE! Everyone comes back 20 minutes later. [Mood: Surprise]

Oct. 4: Confounded (me) admits that he tries to make himself look good, but basically he is scum. Marissa breaks down in an introspective moment. Copious saliva exchanged. [Mood: Stoked]

Oct. 6: Nicolas Quemener Q&A [Mood: Blah]

Oct. 6: Pablo Alphonse, the Latin Lover, talks the French. [Mood: 'WASSUP PABLO!']

Oct. 7: Lyin' Dan shows up. He's pretty cool. [Mood: 'Hey, what's up, Lyin' Dan?']

Oct. 7: Pablo posts his picture on the net. He looks pretty cool. [Mood: Pretty cool]

Oct. 8: Forksclovetofu bids farewell to the thread after 1327 loving messages.

That is the past... all we have now is our future!!!

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:08 (twenty years ago)

why not shut up.
are you psycho? you are totally obsessed with Marissa, whoever she is.
why not focus on something else.
Leave this Marissa out of this, she doesn't have a site.
Just talk about Justin, he has a site. Let's just talk about Justin here.
I don't want to hear about someone who doesn't have a website.

kevin j, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:13 (twenty years ago)

I really like the song story in her eyes.
I think Justin has got a great voice.
I like the sound of his guitars.
I like the way he mixes yesterdays music in with something progressive.
I like Justin's music. When you started the last message, I thought it was going to be good, until you mentioned someone who has no website. I don't want to talk about a person with no site address.
Which albums do you have of the Moodies?

kevin j, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:16 (twenty years ago)

I am the mayor of Vermont. I love Marissa.

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:19 (twenty years ago)

why the hell are you obsessed with talking about someone who has no website?

kevin j, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:20 (twenty years ago)

why are you talking about this person all the time?
you sound totally obsessed.
You talk about Marissa or whoever she is morning noon and evening.
You do nothing with your time except talk about her for eight hours a day.
You have to let go and do something else with your life.
There is no website. Leave Marissa alone whoever she is.
find someone else to talk about.
Let's talk about Priscilla Hernandez. She is a good indie artist and she is young and pretty. Let's get off the subject of a person who doesn't exist on the internet.
Priscilla is so awesome.

www.yidneth.com

kevin j, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

This girl rocks man and she is really pretty.
She is going to be a star. M doesn't have a website and is nowhere on the net. Priscilla is an exceptional talent. She is great.
http://www.yidneth.com

I love this woman and her voice. She is tremendous.

Yidneth Rules, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:25 (twenty years ago)

I love this girl.
I want to switch the subject on to someone who is all over the internet, on the radio, and being supported by alot of people. this person you talk about has no fans.
No supporters.
Let's talk about Priscilla Hernandez. She is becoming so popular.
Stop talking about someone that has no website.
I like pretty women.

Yidneth is great, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:27 (twenty years ago)

I love Marissa. Let's stop talking about her.

By dictum of the mayor!

I love priscialla, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:32 (twenty years ago)

Priscilla is so popular.
So well liked. She has so many friends and she is much prettier then Mar.
By far.
Why talk about a ghost. I love ghosts, but I don't like m.
Priscilla has so many fans.
They worship her works. they do.

Look how many friend she has, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:33 (twenty years ago)

Priscilla is antimatter. If she were to touch all that matters (Marissa), the universe would implode.

xpost: oh holy fuck, what NOW?

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:34 (twenty years ago)

"Marysia: Model, actress, singer-songwritter; hialine voice and strong personality"

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:34 (twenty years ago)

Priscilla is a real artist, Marissa is not.
Marissa can't draw, or paint, or write music. She sings off key and has horrible lyrics. Good things she is off the net.

priscilla is a real artist, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

The more you talk about Priscilla, the more I love Marissa.

Please stop talking about her.

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

May whatever her name is, she is stunning. She is gorgeous and has an amazing voice.
Let's get off the subject of a ghost and talk about real artists and talents.

"Marysia: Model, actress, singer-songwritter; hialine voice and strong personali, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

Good things she is off the net.

ROFFLE-FUNK EXPRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

What a voice, it is such like the Angel.
Marysia is really popular with the gothic community.
I love her.
Let's talk about real talented people please, not people who really can't sing or write.
there is no Marissa on the net.
We took care of this, since she was mean to people who have real talent and beauty.

Marysia is gorgeous, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:39 (twenty years ago)

Let's talk about Marysia, a gorgeous model. Why are talking about m. she is not a model. And she can't sing.

Marysia is a gorgeous model, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

why are you talking about someone who is not a model, not pretty and can't sing?
Why not just talk about Marysia who is a real model and with real beauty and talent?
Why are you not talking about Yidneth who is much better looking and more talented by far?

Why are you talking about Marisa?, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

There is only one girl who wrote the beautiful "Emu" -- she is beautiful and we all want to be her boyfriend. Marissa, if I sing like Justin Hayward, can you love me?

I am waiting to be loved.

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

Let's support the gothic community.
We are strong, we are one.
Priscilla Hernandez is a exceptionally talented young artist, with gorgeous blond curly hair, and beautiful face an body.
Her voice is amazing. She is absolutely fantastic.
Marysia is absolutely gorgeous.
Shs is a model.
M is not a model or famous or even popular. Why not about people who are well liked .
I like popular people.
Not ghosts who are not on the net.

gothic community, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:46 (twenty years ago)

I feel like I am being tricked. I miss Marissa. I wish she would come back on the net.

Confounded (Confounded), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:47 (twenty years ago)

The song Emu sucks, it was banned in all of Europe.
It is a ridulous song.
Why are talking about a song that sucks?
she doesn't know how to make recordings.
she is singing off key.
she sucks.
Stop talking about her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get off the subject of M, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:48 (twenty years ago)

I hate M, she is mean to people, evil and wicked.
I don't want to talk about someone like her. She can't write music. Her music is confused.
Emu is a terrible song.
She is horrible.
I went on the internet telling people this. They were laughing at her. We are glad she took her site down.
We are real artists, I only support real talent.

I want you to stop talking about M, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:50 (twenty years ago)

EMU WAS BANNED IN ALL OF EUROPE

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:51 (twenty years ago)

Emu is the worst piece of music I have ever heard. All my friends were laughing at her inability to sing on pitch.
The woman can't sing and doesn't write music in time with a metronome.
Marissa is going nowhere, because she isn't professional. That's why she is off the net.
My friends are being promoted everywhere.
Let's talk about real talent here.

Emu sucks., Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:52 (twenty years ago)

Marissa, have I told you today how much I love you?
Cause I do.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:52 (twenty years ago)

When Emu has been outlawed, only outlaws will have Emu.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

It's Sun is horrible.
I could sing in Japanese better then this and so can all my friends.
So what?
Her music is boring.
She doesn't have any sense of music.
She can't make recordings. The woman doesn't have brains to make recordings that are sellable.
Really, I only support what is truly talented.

http://www.yidneth.com

Emu is horrible, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:54 (twenty years ago)

I have no idea why you people are always talking about Emu whatever the song is called.
The song is nothing special.
It doesn't any special melody or anything.
It isn't a strong song.
It is weak. The vocals are funky. I mean she has no ability to sing.

I don't like Emu, Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:56 (twenty years ago)

The vocals are VERY funky.
Marissa, do you like Sam and Dave?

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Saturday, 8 October 2005 23:58 (twenty years ago)

sorry, this is not Marissa.
We don't like m.
We think her music is bad.
She sings off pitch.
She is horrible.
She is a horrible person.
I am glad that bitch is off the net.
She is very mean to people.
She was very mean to Priscilla my friends who is honest, sincere and kind to people.
The reason Priscilla has so many supporters is because she is kind and sweet to people. Marissa has no friends, because no one likes her attitude. She is really mean to people.
And she isn't a real artist of any sort.
M is a woman who has nothing to offer and doesn't go and perform because she is probably too old .
Priscilla and young and youthful, happy and in love.
Marissa was so jealous of her beauty and lover.
Marisa never go out and perform anywhere, because no one likes her and her music.
Marissa is so jealous of people who are making money with music she only wish she could make. Priscilla also makes more money then Marissa with music.
She is more professional.

this is not marissa, Sunday, 9 October 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

Let's talk about real pros. Now Priscilla has been number one on many indie boards. No one supports this M person anywhere. She is not popular, pretty or liked.
Let's stop mentioning her name now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to hear the name of that women ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate her.

please, Sunday, 9 October 2005 00:06 (twenty years ago)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Confounded (Confounded), Sunday, 9 October 2005 00:12 (twenty years ago)

In other news,

Mariesa, have you heared (of) Katie Melua?

She was a music student, she got picked up by Mike Batt (of the Wombles fame), given an album worth of songs to do, Managed by that same person, given a fashion makeover, and now they're making millions.

Makes Nora Jones seem a worthy musician type by comparison.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 11 November 2005 17:24 (twenty years ago)

these people are suppose to be artists...
they are not suppose to business people. If I were famous...I would be supporting younger talent..and opened to all kinds of obscure people and supporting and promoting them with my money...

Artists and true artists think that the artworld is a very large thing...
they don't just talk about money, because money isn't as important as beauty and talent...I mean beauty in terms of music.

True artists would love talent coming from anywhere...
I am very supportive of unfamous people and famous people if they are talented....

I look for talent, I don't talk about fame and money...on my site..and never would if I were famous...
I value music and art over fame and money and name brands...

why do these people value name brands and fame and money over talent?

Mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

The word Progressive means pushing foward and onward and upward...
Progressing...

There is no progressive artists being signed...

and not for a long time...

I am not answering whether I have heard these people. I turn off bad music...
and I don't own a t.v anymore...

Mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

I am not saying she is bad..I just don't listen to more then three seconds of people who can't sing well or write...

I have not heard of most of these people...

Mariesa ..., Friday, 11 November 2005 17:30 (twenty years ago)

It was more her back story I was referencing.

To be fair, at least she's honest about it.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 11 November 2005 17:30 (twenty years ago)

I am not discussing why business people are not signed Progressive artists...I want to discuss why rich people or rich artists are not supporting young Progressive artists?
and only supporting bluegrass if they are suppose to be Progressive..and why are only suppporting rap artists, and speaking about them, if they are suppose to be progressive.

Mariesa, this board is also run by Google. It is not for artists, as you have noticed.
Have you ever seen a rich person's message deleted here? Of course not.

this is obscene

mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

Here's her latest single, "Nine Million Bicycles"

There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact
It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you till I die

I mean, WHAT? People PAY MONEY FOR THIS? (My honest reaction on first hearing this single...)

I want to get off this board, because it is run by Google and rich people..and I don't think anyone who wants to discuss music and our culture openly would want to be on a board that doesn't allow freedom of speech.

mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 17:34 (twenty years ago)

thanks for sharing mark...

come on my site..not to talk about the latest famous people...but to talk about older artists who are progressive and wondering why they are not supporting young progressive artists...

One of our bigger suppliers at my shop actually has that as their on-hold music at the moment. It's pretty bad.

I suggest all sincere people who love music and don't work for google or the music, come on my site for a very candid and open discussion for everyone...to discuss why the rich want to be rich and why the poor are getting poorer..and why the middle class are getting poorer?

Only real names apply..you don't have to post your last name...
if suspect that you are an anon and not willing to be honest and insincere..I may delete you..I want sincerity on this board...

this board is for sincere people acting like adults...\

I am looking for sincere people with real names and identities..
and adults that are acting mature. this is a serious discussion.

mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

I want to discuss why rich people who are suppose to be older and wiser artists..are not supporting the arts with their millions...
and why the rich want more power and to become richer..and why the middle and poor are getting less and less respect...
and why the middle class is getting poorer..and the rich are getting richer...

our culture..what is happening to our culture..?

http://www.mariesasabriel.com/gigs.html

why are there no freedoms for the average person..or much less freedoms?

mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

http://www.mariesasabriel.com/gigs.html.

I am discussing on my discussion board about why Progressive rich millionaires...are ignoring Progressive young artists and not donating money to the arts to further the Progressive scene. why are they not supporting younger progressive artists of any kind..female of male???

http://www.mariesasabriel.com/gigs.html

why is all my support coming from Middle class people who love music? why are not rich people supporing me?

Mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 18:19 (twenty years ago)

Confounded (Confounded), Friday, 11 November 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

oh hell yeah!

i heart parrots

X Janis (X Janis), Friday, 11 November 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

I am below middle class really now. My family was middle class. they are lower-middle class now because of their love for the arts and their support of me. how else do you think they manage to get money to help me and the arts...they value the arts..and sacrifice.
they don't live that well..I don't either in some ways...
I am personally, poor.
I am poor, not middle class.
These people are helping the poor and give money to poor people, but they don't give money to poor artists who are creative and value the arts and beauty.
because I sacrificed my whole existance for music , my family is below middle class, and I am poor. ...all for our love of music..

Mariesa, Friday, 11 November 2005 23:00 (twenty years ago)

My piano tuner charged me 87.00
I may have to do this four times a year...
the piano tuner said that the poor or below middle class have their piano tuned much more regularly then the rich. He said that the less affluent customers are more apt to care about the piano then the rich customers.. that is because the rich use their piano for show.
and everything is for show with the rich.

Ah, hot new poems I see. Here's a new one... scathing!

The Us and You
By Mariesa Sabriel

Sounds and thoughts of commerce, who's who.
Wired into the Us and You.
The Us are the ins and the power circle-
and You are the flesh to feed what's commercial.

Green is the face of dollars, no sense.
Green is the colour of their jealous hints.
The Us feels the passion, they'll hear Your cloud's din.
Restraining the You as they save their own kin.

They know that You're breathing in lamenting of cries..
Reminders of equity.. they will surely deny...
Say Your goodbyes.

Confounded (Confounded), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

The "din-kin" rhyme -- genius!

Confounded (Confounded), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

Trees Can Speak
Seabird, fish and flowers they wish, that we would go away.

Living here amongst our stench, insecticide and spray.

We may think our minds all knowing,

our powers quick and overflowing,

but trees can speak, majestic, meek and wisdom winds are blowing.
