OK, didn't see a proper thread on this & i haven't heard otherwise, but i'm seeing this on tuesday in Boston -- how has it been? or well,
more importantly i suppose, is neko going to be with them this time around?

much much much greater live act than I expected

neko is very much along for the ride, dan bejar is a loveable mascot. more bands should have loveable mascots!

When I saw them they tried to cover Don't Stop Believin' but gave up when Neko found out she couldn't sing in the same register as Steve Perry.

saw them in vancouver. they were pretty tight. maybe couldve played one more bejar song though. the band improvised fleetwood mac while AC was tuning his guitar. it turned into a big sing along with neko nailing it. lot of fun.

Oddly, that's exactly what happened in Portland--"Dreams." Then the drummer started "Tubthumping," and Carl abruptly decided that his guitar was as in tune as it needed to be...

Dan Bejar > Neko

I went to their show tonight. And by went I mean went to the venue and got my ID confinscated. LAME. Enjoy it though, just to spite the Phoenix Concert Theatre's security guards.

oh and that drummer, man! what's his name? kurt or keith or something? he was great fun to watch, kept me from dozing off during destroyer's set.

"Dan Bejar > Neko
-- WillS (omelet4t...), October 10th, 2005."

In what way?! Incidentally, does Bejar always come off as sort of generally bored and unimpressed (as he did at the L.A. show?).
Also, that new keyboard gal has some pretty impressive pipes too.

I saw them in Portland as well. It seemed kind of lackluster compared to the other time I've seen them. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday night. I dunno. It was still a very solid show. If anything, they're a fun band to see in order to catch their drummer, Kurt, channeling Keith Moon all night.

She is Neko's relief when Neko can't be assed to show up and quell the indie horndog rumblings.

Is it Nora O'Connor or yet another femme fatale?

"they were pretty tight. maybe couldve played one more bejar song though"

umm.. they played more than that in Vancouver... Jackie, Jackie Dressed in Cobras, Testament to Youth in Verse, Streets of Fire, Chump Change, Breakin the Law.

I can remember those off hand.
