This is a blow against hipsterdom, right? My colleague is 60 and female. She once went out with Paul Jones from Manfred Mann.

A girl in my dorm told me that Miles Davis sounded like porno music. This was 1960s Miles, mind you -- I could at least sort of see what she meant if it was On the Corner or Live Evil.

your pretend ignorance of crazy frog has saved hipsterism, don't worry

Maybe she likes classy, unscripted Norwegian porn.

X-post - I knew I'd got the name wrong AND I'M NOT SORRY, Jess.

(It's cos my colleague called it "the laughing frog" and for the life of me I couldn't think what it actually was called. HMV are selling action figures of the rucking thing for £5. I forgot to check whether the toy had a dick.)

you must commit a violent act soon, you will know when you hear my voice.

A girl once told me that a Gastr del Sol song sounded like "grocery-store music." It sorta did, though.

everyone has strangely been otm so far

My wife thinks that most postrock sounds like "massage music".

at the indie brothel!

I always get really defensive when I hear comments like that, cuz I really like some post-rock (tortoise, gastr), and yet it's kind of hard to deny what she's saying.

Notice the abundance of post-rock as All Things Considered interlude music lately.

Welcome to my relationship!

She also got pissed off when I kept playing Mort Garson's "Plantasia". As soon as she heard it was meant to be for plants, she started saying "can we listen to some music for humans now, please?".

Her other favorite trick is to wait until I'm listening to some Pan Sonic/Throbbing Gristle drone thing and say "is this music?".

i was playing a "Gee Mr Tracy" record once & my sister said it sounded like a Cocopops advert. and she was right.
(i'm fully aware that no one else is going to get/understand this)

This American Life, too (perhaps less unexpectedly).
