goodbye merck / top 5 merck albums

so, as many of you may have read, merck will be closing their doors. seems like they're going to be focusing on narita, which is for the best, the arctic hospital and comp tracks have been great and i only expect it to get better. so what are everyones top 5 merck lp's?

ilkae - pistachio island
helios - unomia
proswell - carrot dossier
landau - thepicompromise
proem - negativ

official statement"We are both sad and happy to announce that this will be the last year of Merck Records. Once we have released 50 cds and 50 vinyls sometime mid 2006, we will stop releasing new material. We have many reasons for this, in the interest of briefness we will just say that its time to move on. After we have completed 100 total releases (currently at 81) we will sell off our remaining stock and there will be no more represses. We thank ALL the people who have supported us over the years, you have made this possible."

I thought this was some kind of weird joke about Merck the Pharma giant going bankrupt because of the Vioxx lawsuits. What's worse is that I read "Seems like they're going to be focusing on Narita" as talking about a drug, and "arctic hospital" only confused me further.

three months pass...

Carrot Dossier is genius and his first one Konami is excellent as well. Beautiful music.

Merck's first Aurora compilation is a swell luscious ambient swirl.

These albums should be heard by everybody and it's shame this had to happen. They also had really great album artwork/design (IMO).
