It's bad, but he sings surprisingly well... My Editor says that the revie's not gonna make the paper, though - he seems to think that young hipsters aren't interested.

Profile in The Independent, wherein he comes across as a shade more thoughtful than you might expect.

his comeback single was previewed on london tonight last night. it is a cover version of "vincent." it is ghastly.

If that's looking great I'm glad I don't look great

I can imagine how the singer of "Never gonna" would handle Vincent.

I blame him for Pub Singers.

George Michael called, and he wants his album title back.

bad how?

mega-cheese production out the wazoo - electric piano, gorgonzola bass, synth-strings stylee.

he looks well. he hasn't exactly reached boy george levels of ghastly in his time off.

He looks like Graeme Le Saux.

I hope he's a better football pundit

Off hand, I know that Rick Astley is...

I always thought that Clay Aiken was this generation's answer to rick astley. Geeky white boy who sings shockingly well.

Is he still styling himself as a Serious Jazz Musician or whatever it was, or has he submitted to the reality that shiny radio-friendly pop is where his bread is buttered?

Wonder if he's kicking himself about not having Pete Waterman on his team.

It's not even shiny radio-friendly pop - it's shiny radio-friendly adult contemorary. Like TOTAL low-budget Michael Buble.

sean gramophone (Sean M), Friday, 14 October 2005 13:44 (twenty years ago)

So it's not Rick Astley's "Tilt", then...

jz, Friday, 14 October 2005 13:59 (twenty years ago)

electric piano, gorgonzola bass, synth-strings stylee

you had my hopes up and then

low-budget Michael Buble

:/
