Glitter, because he's a likeable idiot, rather than a nasty little shit of a predator, and because he made at least one great single. Whereas King ...

We shouldn't confuse the person being scum with the quality of the music. Lots of the all-time greatest are/were horrible people, if rarely THIS horrible. Anyway, King made shite, Glitter made a bunch of top stomping singles.

King gave Genesis their start. Without him, there would be no Passion, "Biko", or "Firth of Fifth"; neither would there be "Sussudio", Mike and the Mechanics, or "I Can't Dance".

Yeah, but half of that we could do without.

Who saw the Jon Ronson meets Jonathan King prog a couple of weeks back? All who were able to, I imagine. It's probably already been discussed here somewhere (link, anyone?). How was your opinion of JK affected by said prog? Up til transmission I was verging on sympathetic to Mr King's plight. However, he came over as the most obnoxious, uncaring, selfish person I have witnessed. But what did I expect? No more sympathy...he got what he deserved. As Robin says, a nasty little shit.

But let's not forget the music (!): Gay Girl, Let It All Hang Out, pretty much all of "Or Then Again", discovering (or at least, promoting) 10cc. 2 singles, an LP, half-a-hand in promo work. Big deal.

It was. But it was a one-off, definitively.

Glitter hit axed from music GCSE.

"Boys and girls of 15 or 16 who select this song will go straight to the internet to find Glitter's music.
"I dread to think what they may find searching online for him," he added.

It's an outrage, that nonce scum should not get any recognition for his music.

Whoever thought this one up should be sacked, glorifying a paedo in schools in beyond me.

'Leader of the Gang', yes the leader of the gang of f-cking nonce perverted scum, he should be tortured and then shot.

Last para particularly good.

Conservative Shadow Minister for Children Tim Loughton said: “I can’t believe AQA could not find a song from an alternative musician.”
