I just watched it with Dan and his wife.

I'm... speechless.

Is that Charles Bukowski's bathroom?

iDonut B4 x86 (donut), Sunday, 30 October 2005 01:23 (twenty years ago)

This is all very well, but what did Dan and his wife think?

steve trained, Sunday, 30 October 2005 01:28 (twenty years ago)

This thread is worthless without a link to the video.

Cunga (Cunga), Sunday, 30 October 2005 01:56 (twenty years ago)

This album should have been called A Little Too Personal. I have no idea how this video got greenlighted. Did she direct it herself?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Sunday, 30 October 2005 02:17 (twenty years ago)

Yes.

Cunga (Cunga), Sunday, 30 October 2005 03:04 (twenty years ago)

This video is mind-bogglingly ridiculous.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Sunday, 30 October 2005 03:22 (twenty years ago)

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Sunday, 30 October 2005 05:35 (twenty years ago)

Thank you. I'd been wanting to view it since I heard about it.

Cunga (Cunga), Sunday, 30 October 2005 05:38 (twenty years ago)

Lindsay Lohan's father thrilled with song

Thugee Hashishim (wubfur), Sunday, 30 October 2005 07:04 (twenty years ago)

I like it when she screams into the camera with the wind-machine going strong.

it's very Plastic Ono Band

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 30 October 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

maybe the use of the word "postman" was an intentional Lennon check

miccio (miccio), Sunday, 30 October 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

Sure as hell hope it wasn't a Costner one.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 30 October 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

You know what? Even when she's being played by a woman straight out of Central Casting in a ludicrously over-the-top pop video, I can't sit there and watch someone's Mom get smacked around. I got about halfway in and had to shut it off.

Tantrum The Cat (Tantrum The Cat), Sunday, 30 October 2005 23:03 (twenty years ago)

does linda perry have anything to do with this song?

jagged little filly (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 31 October 2005 01:13 (twenty years ago)

Oh my GOD DID I try!

Actually, the better question is: what the hell is Avril gonna do in her next video. I mean, this is pretty fucking hard to top. Avril is going to have to do some majorly fucked up shit to top the butter on this angst.

iDonut B4 x86 (donut), Monday, 31 October 2005 03:14 (twenty years ago)

Abortion, yo.

It can be all these things and more!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 31 October 2005 06:03 (twenty years ago)

Avril Lavigne's new single, "Mama Never Told Me," deals with her sexual assault at the hands of a werewolf that left her with AIDS and child, debating whether to terminate the pregnancy ("What to do? I just don't know/ a lysol douche might be the way to go"). MTV will only be playing the video, which stars Johnny Winter & Mia Farrow as her parents and the dipshit from Coheed & Cambria as her attacker, after midnight, preceeded by a parental advisory and a clarification that Lavigne does not believe that all werewolves are rapists.

miccio (miccio), Monday, 31 October 2005 06:09 (twenty years ago)

She's gonna reunite the Baader-Meinhof. Including the dead ones.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Monday, 31 October 2005 06:25 (twenty years ago)

Weiland will cameo in the video of course.

iDonut B4 x86 (donut), Monday, 31 October 2005 06:55 (twenty years ago)

as in Cameo.. he's going to have Larry Blackmon hair.

iDonut B4 x86 (donut), Monday, 31 October 2005 06:55 (twenty years ago)

Michael Lohan - who is serving a four year sentence for drunken driving, contempt of court and beating his brother-in-law with a shoe - wrote his own song after learning Lohan was releasing Confessions Of A Broken Heart.

Ooh, they can screen it just before the premiere of It Was All Yello: The Coldwerk Sessions!

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Monday, 31 October 2005 16:48 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
I finally saw the vid this morning, and it's some quality comedy, oh yes.

I liked how it builds up to present-day Lindsay and cowering-in-her-room-to-escape-the-fighting Lindsay both screaming at the same time, with quick edits between the two. I THINK THE PAST STILL HAUNTS HER.

It's only a matter of time before somebody makes a video like this about their dog dying or their bicycle getting a flat tire when they were eleven.
