The Streets remix of Banquet is the real cream of the new single. fuckingly awesome appology for stealing jo whileys microphone some years ago. but, i know plenty ILMers hate overhyped music - both skinner and bloc party, so this should be their double hate issue.

karl otm. i feel like i should try not to like it because as he points out it's a confluence of two massively hyped bands, both coincidentally distributed in the us by super-hype imprint vice. still i can't stop listening to it. thoughts?

Seriously, I love both bands but I just can't get over how terrible the collaboration is. Awful. I hope that it's really just a bad joke, because I can't believe any of the artists involved think that it's a decent effort.

It's not a "collaboration." It's Skinner rapping a goof over a loop from an old single. It's not to be taken all that seriously, methinks. (I think Bloc Party are cool for putting this kind of thing on their CD singles. Reminds me of stuff like Pearl Jam putting The Frogs' cover of "Rearview Mirror" on one of their singles years ago).
