What's funny is that I didnt' even mean it "that way"... I was just being honest about how patheticly honest I'm feeling about being pathetically honest.

But, what you're saying is (jokingly, I presume) that this is honestly what ILM is all about, I guess.

Right?

However, I'm serious.

(Actually, this is one of the worst albums I've ever heard.)

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Sunday, 6 November 2005 03:25 (twenty years ago)

It is excellent.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Sunday, 6 November 2005 03:26 (twenty years ago)

Hampton Grease Band or Kate Bush is excellent?

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Sunday, 6 November 2005 03:27 (twenty years ago)

Hampton Grease Band

I have no idea what you hear in it, then. For a short, cannabis intensive time I was a big fan of the Aquarium Rescue Unit, but I got over even that same-samey jazzjamfusionyawn pretty fast, and that later stuff makes HGB seem positively vibrant.

So the last time I was in New York I missed seeing this thing at The Kitting Factory with Jimmy Edgar and Richard Devine, now I wasn't nor am that big on either, but Datach'i was playing and I really really was interested in that, but only because I thought Datach'i were D'arcangelo, and I had been looking for their stuff for a long time awhile before to no avail, but seemingly mixed the two up. So when i get back I download some Datach'i, still thinking it was D'arcangelo, and I realised they were different, and Now I really wish i could have seen Datach'i live, more so than D'arcangelo.

Heh heh...I included this LP on the "3 Favourites At This Point In Time" thread! (Guitars to die for, chief among many other attributes.)

Answer to original post: Hang around here long enough and you will be disabused of this notion.

Is that the same Grease Band that plays on the Joe Cocker albums?

k/l (Ken L), Sunday, 6 November 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

No, different.

Bruce Urquhart (Bruce Urquhart), Sunday, 6 November 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

The real question is do you like to talk about ways of thinking about critiquing ways of writing about listening to music?

m0stly clean (m0stly clean), Sunday, 6 November 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)
