Hearing Is Believing: The Jack Nitzsche Story is pretty solid, though it is far from comprehensive. No Spector, no Stones, no Young. But it does a good job of gathering some of the more obscure stuff from Nitzsche's career.

Tyler Wilcox (tylerw), Sunday, 6 November 2005 23:25 (twenty years ago)

The Ex to thread!!!

Singles.Period. is long overdue, totally completist, and awesome.

I lose track of years.

Can, Eno, obv. Were the Arthur Russells this year, esp. 'World of Echo'? Was that L. Voag this year?

The 1981 box set from I.M.

Aw, thanks, Ned. I haven't listened (or made any copies) in so long I forget about it almost. I guess I should check the email address. . .

Technically, it's been about exactly 1 year since I finished the first edition. The 2nd (the one all ILMers have) was 2005, though. And the final, final and final version for all eternity, if I ever make any copies, will likely be 2006, though it's sitting on my hard drive ready for me to have the time/energy/money to do anything with it.

I.M. (I.M.), Monday, 7 November 2005 03:12 (twenty years ago)

The Gun Club Fire of Love

By the Fruits, You Shall Know the Roots Some gorgeous stuff on here, but it ain't flawless. Not so keen on the Dredd Foole stuff, and the number of times I've actually played this doesn't quite match the anticipation leading up to it's arrival...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 16:25 (twenty years ago)

six months pass...
The original recording/sleeve for Associates debut LP The Affectionate Punch. It finally saw the light of day on cd (the '97 reissue was the 1982 remixed version that isn't as good), plus they included the cover of Bowie's "Boys Keep Swinging". Top reissue for me last year.
