Can anyone tell me where I can download a simple (not taking up much space on my XP) and free piece of software that's pretty much dedicated to converting WAV's to Mp3, no track playing capability necessary?

free, doesn't take up much space, easy to install (unzip the file, create a shortcut, that's it). http://www.exactaudiocopy.de

It's not the simplest though :/

(or the above suggestions)

cdEx is good.

iTunes is actually very decent at this, too.

This one would of been my second choice and looks awesome. Used a much harder one to figure out but the rewards seem much better.

They are moving their site but still works:

I love dbpoweramp. easy to use, lotsa downloadable plugins. look for an older version, mp3 conversion is not crippled due to licensing issues.

Very simple, very small. Doesn't tag though.
I think iTunes is gonna take up a bit more space.

I just go to zdnet.com downloads or c-net.com downloads and look for whatever's free at the time. Sometimes I download one of these things and then it stops working after awhile (much like db Poweramp did). I've got a converter now called "AV MP3 Player-Morpher" that works just fine (when they say "morph" of course they really mean "convert" - it's got a kindof silly interface, but it works).
