The gmail YSI thread reminded me of all these damn unnamed radiohead songs I got from napster. some jackass compiled them but somehow ripped em without the names. I could post more than just this one, but someone anyone, please solve this now 5 year old mystery!!!

How exactly have you been looking for it during the last five years?

Googled in two seconds.

StanM (StanM), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:19 (twenty years ago)

Because, again, it came from Napster. Napster existed 5 years ago, in its original form. That is when I obtained many folders full of unnamed Radiohead bootlegs.

Until now, there has really not been anyway for me to get to the song to alot of people or experts willing to help. Yousendit makes this easier to do.

Jesus, and who the fuck cares why its been 5 years? I'm just asking for help not a god damn donation... lol, dick.

http://musicbrainz.org/ can often identify (and tag) stuff like this for you.

I was expecting this to be a Muse track honestly! I think this might be an early b-side called 'Killer Cars'. You could try searching on a portion of the lyrics too.

(preview. never mind).

Worst song, played on ugliest guitar (fandango), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:22 (twenty years ago)

I think StanM's point was that googling "radiohead "here it comes"" returns "Maquiladora" as the first hit.

sean gramophone (Sean M), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

When you say "a 5 year old mystery," I thought you meant you had been actively searching for five years, while all I had to do was google a couple of words he's singing. Dick.

StanM (StanM), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

well jesus, sorry I can't understand Oxford accents as well as everyone else,

many of the things i thought they were saying in the lyrics were not what i thougth they were saying at all.

congratulations StanM, give yourself a fucking cookie!!! sorry I used the internet for some genuine human interaction and gave out a free god damn song, i shoulda just kept to myself and my google and been a loser.

Monster Brit (hydraulis), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:26 (twenty years ago)

And it's a great track indeed, thanks for the YSI. (and the chance to say dick back at you, :-) )

StanM (StanM), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:27 (twenty years ago)

that song is kinda weak, though.
even for radiohead.

Fetchboy (Felcher), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

god damn music elitists,

thats why i'm here and also why i hate you all.

Monster Brit (hydraulis), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

I don't know why I found this amusing:

please solve this now 5 year old mystery!!!

"Our dedicated team of investigators has been working round the clock for OVER SIXTY MONTHS to elucidate the baffling explanation of this enigma. Only now, with the combined powers of the brilliant minds of ILM and the miracle that is YSI are we able to crack the puzzle!"

Please shoot some flames my way.

viborgu, Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:39 (twenty years ago)

OK, ok, I apologize. (even though I feel I got called a dick for helping you out)

So you said there were more songs you wanted help with?

StanM (StanM), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:41 (twenty years ago)

xpost

Yeah, and thanks for the free music. I'm just too hung over to like that song. Back to Wes Montgomery for me.

viborgu, Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

listen to amnesiac, that's where radiohead starts. everything before including this is utter bullshit. his voice sucks unbelievably on this.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:42 (twenty years ago)

"So there's this song that's been bugging me. Every time i go to a baseball game everybody sings it before the game starts and they all ritualistically put their hands/hats on their hearts when they do it. I can't find it on SLSK b/c I don't know the name!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
PS. 13 year mystery"

Fetchboy (Felcher), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

ok ok, i'll post some more yousendits... also I did answer the thread author's request for a rare Radiohead bootleg (from this same pile of unnamed shit, which started me on this path) in this thread:

This is the SIXTH and newest thread for requesting tracks for YSI/gmail

Ok, since you wanna be a smart ass and make me look dumb by googling lyrics, I'm gonna give you this one. Its a backwards version of another song, which I'm not telling you what it is. Its still pretty easy.

Monster Brit (hydraulis), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:45 (twenty years ago)

and i googled the beginning of that song just now, its sounds like he's saying "matt berg is the second coming of the hindenburg" but nothing on google matches it.

and i feel guilty so i'm gonna tell you that its polyethylene thats backwards.. but still no easy google results for that either.

not as easy as i suspected.

Monster Brit (hydraulis), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:49 (twenty years ago)

Can I play? What do I win? :D

Worst song, played on ugliest guitar (fandango), Saturday, 12 November 2005 23:57 (twenty years ago)

you win the satisfaction of belittleing me.

StanM, you made any progress?

Mon Star (hydraulis), Sunday, 13 November 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

Your search - dawnzer "lee light" - did not match any documents.

autovac (autovac), Sunday, 13 November 2005 05:43 (twenty years ago)

'fraid not, no. After reversing that backwards track I can confirm it's a bit of Polyethylene, but I've got no idea where it came from.

StanM (StanM), Sunday, 13 November 2005 09:32 (twenty years ago)

I wonder if the origins are somehow shady. Maybe a fan bootleg?

Mon Star2 (hydraulis2), Sunday, 13 November 2005 11:16 (twenty years ago)

It's an old b-side called 'Maquiladora'.

Job done.

mr_glide (mr_glide), Monday, 14 November 2005 16:25 (twenty years ago)

umm yeah smarty pants, we know that about maquiladora.

listen to the second song in this thread.
