Yup, like at first I thought "Pete Shelley Doesn't NEED 'guests'" but no, it's Mark Lamarr who's taking a little 'break'.

Now, I like the guy. He used to host our local comedy club, and many the amusing punchline I'd supply to his 'caption this with a punchline' intermission competition, he'd read and throw onto the floor without reading it aloud. How we laughed.

Anyroad, hey it was getting a bit tired or what!

So, who'd make a good guest presenter?

PETE SHELLEY! DO IT NOW BBC!

Pete Shelley's accent when speaking is virtually impenetrable to non-Brits.

I reckon Howie rather than Pete.

Actually, Howard, on condition he reprises his finest moment: "I don't remember any of this!!!"

In a lucid realization, I came to the conclusion that
the Buzzcocks (who are one of my all-time
faves) are the Punk-Rock version of the
Monkeys.

"My irritability keeps me alive and kicking...." I'm not sure we'd actually notice that much difference between Mark Lamarr and Howie.... except that Mark has more hair and Howie might be slightly less antagonistic towards Westlife.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Tuesday, 15 November 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

I think they should just stop making it. It's utter drivel.

four years pass...

OK, this is a better thread to revive adhoc.

Um, Terry Wogan was the GP.

It was alright. He even snuck in a Boo Radleys reference at the end!

It wasn't great, but it was better than the show's been recently.

four years pass...

No more presenters, or guests or owt.

BBC have canned it (I'd link the page but am on mobile)

it had got a bit better with Rhod Jeffries but.
