Whats the quickest and most reliable way to find a songs Year of Release

Most of the info out on the net focusses on the year it got onto the Billboard Top 100, not the year the single was released.
Anyone know of a quick and dirty database of release (dates|years)

Allmusic.com is very useful for this type of this thing. (I would make that a link if I knew how)

Well, thats probably an accurate source, but with a slow modem, it would take a long time to do what I need to do (and I'm on soulseek right now, and its taking up alot of my bandwidth). Besides, Allmusic has been malfunctioning in numerous ways for a week or so now.

sometimes if i can't get allmusic up i search the album and amazon.com, because the year of release can be seen in the google description (without going to the amazon site). i'm not sure of its accuracy though.
