What hardcore bands was Ted Leo in before Chisel ?

I've never heard any of them, but I've always read the names Animal Crackers and I think Cardiac Arrest as his pre-Chisel HC acts.

He was in Animal Crackers but he wasn't in Citizens Arrest.

He was in Hell No with Janis and Joe out of Citizens Arrest, though (and people out of GO!).

Animal Crackers did a 7" which is eh, the first Hell No 7" is okay but the Hell No "skin job" album from '92 is fucking fantastic. As were their shows at ABC No Rio and in Jersey. Kinda like Swiz's later stuff with some Drive Like Jehu.

Hell No did another 7" and lp a few years later in '95 but Ted had already left to play in Chisel then.

Ted always used to wear a hat.

Positive.

Citizens Arrest had the same line-up from when they started to their last show in '91 where Animal Crackers supported, which i attended.

since you were there at the time, i'll take your word for it. it's odd that i've seen citizen's arrest referenced repeatedly in articles about ted leo, though.

Ellis sounds like he's pretty dependable on this... he's like the "Losing My Edge" of Leo-logy!

Has anyone else heard that Ted used to play with brothers Chris and Danny as the Leotards?

And did anyone ever see The Sin Eaters perform live? I'm just curious if those songs became Pharmacists songs, or was there a whole era of music that was never recorded?

sineaters did, in fact, record a tape. some of those songs became pharmacists songs and some did not.

ive been searching for a dub of that thing for a damn long time.
