you know, the kind belle and sebastian steal their strings lines from. gary puckett and union gap - young girl is my favourite... it's so awful, yet i cannot turn my ears away.

what else is there out there?

If you actually want BAD the you really can't get worse than German pop from the end of the 60s. I've got an LP called 'The 12 Singers of Baden-Baden' (a relic from some sort of soft pop battle of the bands) whose tracks usually contain vague melodies, strident singing, lumpy orchestration and a leaden oompah beat beneath it all.

If, on the other hand, you want something sort of good then it's hard to pass by Serge Gainsborgh / Brigitte Bardot / Jane Birkin : cute and mostly lovely.

I do actually enjoy the 12 singers record, btw!

hey minna!

you can't turn your ears away because it is so sweet. check out the poptones reissue selection for a full line of sagitturius, millennium, gary usher stuff.

also check out the association, fifth dimension, chad and jeremy for the soft pop explosions in the sky.

paul: can you recommend any of the chad & jeremy albums? I'm interested in them but completely unfamiliar, thanks
