Morris Minor and the Majors (who did 'Stutter Rap' in the eighties) were the original GLC. They were crap, but it's always good to look at someone who did something first and were rubbish, making the band you like look better. If you see what I mean.

The first Pharcyde album was pretty amusing, if you're looking for comedic rap.

Have a look at Infinte Mass, from Sweden. They rap in English, and are amazing live. I remeber their lyrics were pretty good, but what amused me was expecting to see a bunch of blonde German types, and being greeted with a largely Hispanic group. They jumped around a lot and wore a lot of white. Excellent stuff.

All good suggestions. Checkin them out now. I've tried the french hip-hop thing, but it wasn't what i wanted. Gotan Project meets GLC might be fun though.

I actually might be going to see Tre from the Pharcyde on the 26th. He did have an earlier free show scheduled at the Mall of America, but they cancelled saying it was not "family oriented."
