Two fantastic songs. Which version?
"Everything Under the Sun":
Walker Brothers- glorious bombast: soaring strings, timpani booms, and the Bros. vocal interplay and Righteous Brothers-type harmonies. Incredible key change with horns/seraphic backup sing-along at end of song. My only criticisms are the use of the woodblock, John Walker overemotes a bit, and the "I need you baby" transition takes a little bit too long.
Ronettes- more innocent, earthy, cute "shoop-shoop" vocals in background. Not as elaborate as the WB arrangement.
"Walking in the Rain"
Walker Brothers- Sung from the male point of view; like the Ronettes version, opens with pouring rain sounds. Again, great dual harmonies throughout and love the way Scott and John line-up single file on the chorus ("Walking in the rain/And wishing on the start up above..."). Female back-up singers provide a nice contrasting feature.
Ronettes- Sung from the female point of view. As always, Ronnie carries the song pretty solidly as a solo vehicle. Production sounds warmer, more lusterous arrangement.
Also, who else has covered these songs? I know the Partridge Family did "Walking in the Rain"...

Jay and the Americans did a right fine "Walking in the Rain."
