Whatever happened to Tony Thorpe aka Moody Boyz?

Tony Thorpe, the genius behind Moody Boyz who made Product Of The Environment and Recycled For The Environment in the mid 90s. He went on to do A&R I believe, but why did he do stop making such marvellous music? And did he do anything else worth searching out?

Presumably you have his co-production/programming work with the KLF, then...?

Thanks for replying. I know just the two Moody Boyz releases, nothing else. I have the KLF's White Room, but didn't know he was involved with them. Since posting the question, I came across this article by David Toop which mentions Thorpe (under 'z'): http://www.thewire.co.uk/archive/essays/a_z_dub.html

There was at least one Moody Boyz remix of "What Time Is Love?" on one of the 2,000,000 12"es of that song... plus I believe Jimi Cauty of KLF was part of the Moody Boyz family for a while. Check ye Google resources for further info.

Ach, and of course I forgot about the "3AM" single. Thanks, Mark.

he ran Language Records. maybe still does? great label. the two Miscellaneous and Family comps will give a good sense of the Language aesthetic. Tao and Buckfunk 3000 are probably the most essential artist full-lengths.

It's not, here's the Moody Boyz discog entry:
http://www.discogs.com/artist/Moody+Boyz and there's Jimmy Cauty listed as a member.
