i know his stuff only really because of the Johnny Cool Soundtrack (1962 - but sounds earlier). i like Johnny Cool a lot, but some think its a bit hokey. i can understand that, but for me it is atmospheric and just right (playing with cliches maybe? '62 was damn late for noir dontcha think?)

and i guess this is a pretty minor role in a distinguished career, so feel free to talk about his ouevre...
