this might be 2004 but...

"...and the ROOF opened up!" (john tejada, "sweat (on the walls)")

barring that, i could answer this thread with a thousand different moments from aerial, but i'll pick a specific one: the way her voice breaks a little when she sings "forests of MASTS" on "a coral room"

The part in Teen Angst by M83 where it goes kind of quiet for a second or so, probably less actually. then just goes nuts. That's amazing. One of my favourite musical moments ever I'd say.

Tokyo Ghost Stories (Tokyo Ghost Stories), Monday, 28 November 2005 05:04 (twenty years ago)

the way the music slows down for the "FUCK ALL Y'ALL" in Smog's "The Well".

The mix from Delia and Gavin's "#5" to the Tiga remix of "tribulations" in the DFA Holiday Mix.

Prepared piano coda on Noze's "Kitchen".

Nina Nastasia singing "Be Pleased... for everything's changing" on "Bird of Cuzco" - so pure, absolutely breathtaking.

Twitch mixing Speedy J's "Pullover" into Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" at Optimo :)))))

Bash Bash Bash Bash/ Bash Bash Bash Bash - 40 seconds from the end of Isolee's "Schrapnel".

between the 10 and 20 second mark in loveisall's make out, fall out make up.

the first 10 seconds of the new sleater-kinney album. so in-your-face, so loud, so perfect. sets the stage for what became my favorite album of 2005

people realising that kate bush is still alive

she's not btw. they've handed the kate bush brand to a new crazy woman singer and the late kate bush is spinning in her pagan grave.

"Who knows who wrote that song of summer that blackbirds sing at dust?"

Aerial bitches, recognise - this album owns this thread.

Dr J Bowman (Dr J Bowman), Monday, 28 November 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

Hearing Bloc Party for the first time (specifically, "Like Eating Glass"). And finding ILM.

owen moorhead (i heart daniel miller), Monday, 28 November 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

First like five seconds of "I Said Never Again (But Here We Are)", i.e. "whoa, that producer really fucking knows how to take advantage of compression!"

Honorable mention: every time the bass drops in in a JLC remix.

Eppy (Eppy), Monday, 28 November 2005 22:27 (twenty years ago)

That point in Harvey Danger's "Cream and Bastards Rise" where it goes from great to awesome..."it's probably you! whooohoooo!"
