I have way too many scratched CDs and an Apple computer running OSX. What should I use to rip them?

Have you tried turning on 'Use error correction when reading Audio CDs'. In iTunes 6 the option's found under Advanced > Importing. Might be somewhere else in previous versions. Alternatively you could try downloading Audion - it's the mp3 player that was supplanted by iTunes, but it's available for free if you Google. HTH.

Siegbran can you confirm if that actually works? I was under the impression it didn't with that particular program.

I really should find a copy of VirtualPC & try that if it's feasible, although frankly I'd be happiest running everything under it & never ever looking at OS X again... Isn't it fairly unpractical, flaky & a massive drag speedwise for most things that way though?
