"Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble" 1986 version vs. 1988 version

Jive has all but erased the existence of the original version of this song. Once the Fresh Prince broke with the family-friendly "Parents Just Don't Understand," the original print of Rock The House dissapeared and the version with the anemic, sanitized "1988 Extended Mix" showed up.

This is the version on all the greatest hits and all the retrospective. I don't even know if it was ever on CD (it was most certainly on my cassette, which i threw away when I turned 12 and had a suburban white-boy identity crisis and started listening to Ministry).

I've heard the

As memory serves, the differences are as follows

1988 - "She asked me if I liked her..."
1986 - "She [something weird and reversed]

1988 - "I handed her my wallet and ran like hell"
1986 - "I hit her with a trashcan and ran like hell"

1988 - "[Yo Clancy, we got 'im] But it wasn't my fault!"
1986 - "I didn't do nothing, it was that dumb broad's fault

1988 - "I was in a bar one Friday night/Coolin', watching a Mike Tyson fight"
1986 - "I was in a bar one Friday night/chillin out watching a Sugar Ray fight"

[What bar would let a 17-year-old kid in? An serve him tequila to boot?]

1988 - "All I had was my underwear on to keep me warm"
1986 - "I didn't even have my underwear on to keep me warm"

I haven't heard the original version in like 15 years, but the 1988 version STILL sounds weird to me!

Can someone YSI the original version? Anyone know what happened to it?

and while we're at it, a YSI of the Ice Cream Tee rejoinder "Guys Ain't..." (which I think was also on 'Rock The House') would be nice

pretty please

It was on both versions of "Rock The House" as I recall.

How come no one but Scott will ever talk to me about old school stuff?

Haha, Whiney, are you RJD2? He has a thing about this situation too.

Don't forget:

1986 - "So I punched her on the chin/I said 'Girl, stop buggin'"

I still wonder what the weird reversed part is too.

i had this discussion recently and can quote the following verses from the original exactly, but am too lazy to listen and transcribe the other differences:

she started grabbin all over me kissing and hugging
so I punched her in her chin I said you better stop buggin
she got mad looked me dead in my face
threw her hands in the air and yelled out rape
I got scared when she started to yell
so I hit her with a trashcan and ran like hell

i was ducking through allies right and left
but when the cops caught up they almost beat me to death
now i'm in prison charged with aggrevated assualt
but i didn't do nothing it was the dumb broad's fault
