Feb. 7th, 2006 on Metropolis Records. They're now labelmates with Peter Murphy, KMFDM, VNVNation, Front 242 and Mindless Self Indulgence. I think this is bitchin'.

It's a really fun disc. What was the story here? Were they trapped in some weird legal thing?

I think the major they were on didn't think it was going to sell too well this past year, or something. Now it's not an issue.

It was originally supposed to be out on "Rushmore/Warner Bros." I've never heard of a 'Rushmore Records' in any other context, so I'm assuming its either like that or E6 got caught in the crossfire of a break-up between a planned boutique label and WEA.

Trivia note: My brother Michael did the cover for Senor Smoke.

You can go away now that you've gotten that off your chest.

Okay, Master of the Universe. Whatever you say.

haha, donut, I don't know what that cartoon even means, but I think it's an excellent retort to Fester's inexplicable nastiness.

It's hard for me to get too psyched about this, because I have had the thing for so long now, but I am very happy for THEM. And I will buy an official version when it comes out.

I was just listening to Rock n Roll Evacuation this morning!

And The Future is in the Future is still one of my favorite songs of the year.

I never got around to buying this, so I'm really happy about the reissue news.

The first play of this didn't do anything for me, and I'm a HUGE fan of Fire. Obviously I must reassess it.

You can go away now that you've gotten that off your chest. The crowd enthusiasm for Electric Six on ILM, astonishing.

I can totally see Peter Murphy covering "Gay Bar."

*has seizure*

(As it stands, Mr. Murphy's last solo album was on another label.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 2 December 2005 13:53 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, that would be seizure inducing...I mean, Pete Murphy being a serious artist and all...
