I hear loads in it now I'd never have heard back when I first listened

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 3 December 2005 16:39 (nineteen years ago)

I tried really hard to like this, but was happy to sell it.

fandango (fandango), Saturday, 3 December 2005 16:49 (nineteen years ago)

I wish they'd done more of the vocal collaborations, or (more harshly) made an e.p. instead of an album.

fandango (fandango), Saturday, 3 December 2005 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

I preferred Premieres Symptomes.

Myke Weiskopf (Myke Weiskopf), Saturday, 3 December 2005 22:24 (nineteen years ago)

i hope i never hear this again.

Any album with "La Femme D'Argent" on it can't be all bad.

I didn't try hard to like it, and I didn't like it.

I feel this review. I remember being impressed by the "Sexy Boy" video on the "MTV2 On MTV" show, and then much later on I saw "Kelly Watch The Stars" and "All I Need" on 120 Minutes and was impressed by both. And so I decided to buy the album, but it turns out that besides 2 or 3 other songs, there isn't much else on this one that I really enjoy.

I do think the best songs stand alone as classics, however.

is Talisman on that LP? That's one of their finest moments.

David Whitaker : Director, Orchestra Director, Orchestral Arrangements

Looks like they had some extra help on those.

blunt (blunt), Monday, 5 December 2005 00:58 (nineteen years ago)

like the album that sounds like pink flyd

two years pass...

this record goes out of its way to sound nice. makes it great fodder for shoe stores and thai restaurants. it is a sweet thing to listen to though.

i've found it! that one time Snrub was OTM!

This thread is very odd. Obviously a great album and Air's best.

Spencer Chow, Thursday, 13 March 2008 16:57 (seventeen years ago)

Three disc deluxe version is coming: 2 CDs, 1 DVD.

Yeah, wtf?

Lostandfound, Thursday, 13 March 2008 23:52 (seventeen years ago)

"I preferred Premieres Symptomes"

Yeah this is OTM. Also, Moon Safari got me into Piero Umiliani so I can't hate, great record.

oscar, Thursday, 13 March 2008 23:56 (seventeen years ago)

I preferred Premieres Symptomes

I double-dog agree.

Actually, if you haven't heard it, you should check out Previsao Do Tempo by Marcos Valle. I'm convinced Air stole everything from their first few releases from this record.

Bill in Chicago, Friday, 14 March 2008 01:08 (seventeen years ago)

Will def check on that LP. One of my fav tracks by him is "Escape".

oscar, Friday, 14 March 2008 01:12 (seventeen years ago)

i think the best couple of air tracks are probably from 'talkie walkie'

moon safari does a better job of capturing a uniform mood over the course of the album though, so it's the pick of their career

alt-3, gold & silver (Lamp), Saturday, 3 April 2010 20:17 (fifteen years ago)

I wish this was about The Pastels! Air is good too.

Evan, Saturday, 3 April 2010 21:39 (fifteen years ago)

Oh wait, Moon safari. Don't know why I read Mobile Safari.

Evan, Saturday, 3 April 2010 21:40 (fifteen years ago)

all-time classic.

nicky lo-fi, Saturday, 3 April 2010 22:01 (fifteen years ago)

nxd, Sunday, 4 May 2025 20:27 (five months ago)

yeah I’m really enjoying it too

||||||||, Sunday, 4 May 2025 20:29 (five months ago)

ha my kid was already super pro moon safari and in the past month has been insistently forcing my listens to vegyn. it’s fine, but i feel like the focus and knowledge i need to examine what vegyn is really bringing is too much for now. so i’m at “it’s fine” as a placeholder.

Theodor W. Adorbso (Hunt3r), Sunday, 4 May 2025 22:03 (five months ago)

it was funny tho— i saw ‘moon safari’ header and i was just immed ‘you know that is about vegyn, hunt3r, click now.”
