Janine Jansen - The Four Seasons

Wow, I never would have thought the world needed another recording of this popular brunch soundtrack, but she is electrifying. She plays with a stripped-down ensemble (one instrument per part instead of full orchestra), and somehow this plus her energetic style un-stuffs the piece. Classical music doesn't get much more metal than her shredding on the first movement of Winter.

She's also easy on the eyes. She may unseat Hilary Hahn as my classical music crush.

She also has a fetching accent (she is Dutch) and a lovely speaking voice. Sigh.

Jansen is more classically pretty, though there is something intense about Hahn that I really like (it was in her performance as well when I saw her)
