Are there any fucking good podcasts? Especially done by dorky noise kids? Please?

I love the idea of the podcast -- tons of little radiostations by people who don't know what they're doing. But I keep searching for something I'm interested in; specifically some place that has noise, industrial, krautrock, stuff like hawkwind and amon duul and wolf eyes and no neck blues band and you know... new bands in that veign that I have a hard time finding... but I am getting NOTHING. Just tons of shitty indie rock stations.

Somebody. I mean fuck if it's not out there, could some of you guys just load up your ipods or something?

Ohh and rare psych, especially foreign stuff. Or at least like southern hip hop or rare electro or french pop. Or grime would be cool. SOMETHING I give a shit about.

I dont really know how theyre done, but I read something on it and I'm pretty sure anybody can do one. I guess as long as they have an ipod. Maybe you don't need an ipod. You should do one though. Ill look up information and relay it to you. I would orgasm if ILMers had podcasts.

You don't need an iPod to make nor to listen to podcasts.

Podcasts are just mp3 files, most of which come attached to an RSS feed so programs like iTunes, iPodder and the like know when you've posted a new episode. Either way, you can do normal mp3 things like them like listen to them on your computer or burn them to CD.

To make one, all you need is a microphone, a computer, some audio editing software (like Audacity, which is free) and somewhere to host the file. You should also have permission to play any music you play.

Yahoo's podcast portal is pretty helpful for tracking down podcasts. You can also use the site to stream podcasts instead of download them if you're worried about guzzling hard drive space. Check it out here: http://podcasts.yahoo.com

Here are Yahoo Podcasts search results for Krautrock: http://podcasts.yahoo.com/search?p=krautrock&c=b&find=Search

Hope that helps.

For pure noise - - and various interesting methods of creating said "noise" - - I love the Difficult Listening Channel's podcast. Very, very good stuff....
