I'm fucked if I don't find a copy of "Surrogate Cities" by Heiner Goebbels tonight. I was loaned a copy of the piece by a coworker b/c our orchestra will be performing it and the copy got fucked up. Now he needs it back and I gotta find a replacement. If anyone has this, email me at selimsi at gee mail dot com, and I will make it very worth ya while. But also, if anyone could let me know of a place in NYC that might carry it, i'd also be very much indebted to you.
Thanks

Tower Records should definitely have it, try the one on Broadway @ 4th

Thanks, unfortunately, I just called the Tower "Village," which is the one I'm assuming you were referring to (dunno really b/c I'm new to the city) and the one at the Lincoln Center. Both out of stock. Anybody got any more suggestions?

Y'ever go to that one, Academy (I think?) on 18th street between 5th and 6th? It's LOADED with classical/post-war stuff for cheap. Most things are in the Naxos price range... and Naxos (of which they also have tons) is only like $2.99.

I'm saying their good cd's range from $4.99 - $10. Their Naxos are cheaper than most other stores (since they're used).

The only annoying part is the post-war section is directly above the rock section and so you have to kind of fight the rock people who don't acknowledge any other section exists.

Downtown Music Gallery is the store in NYC most likely to carry such music.

Downtown is a good choice. Other Music is a possible long shot. If you were looking for "The Man In The Elevator," I could have helped, but alas.
