anybody got the Richard X remixes of TLC 'Hands Up' and New Orders 'Bizarre Love Triangle'?

Lee Adams (boggy22), Saturday, 10 December 2005 14:43 (twenty years ago)

They've both been posted in the last few days on the YSI threads.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 10 December 2005 15:53 (twenty years ago)

Let's turn this thread into something more useful. Can we get a discography of all the remixes Richard X has been involved in? I'll start:

Ciara - Goodies (feat MIA, Richard X remix)
Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Richard X remix)
Prince Po - Hold Dat (four Richard X remixes)
Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence (Richard X remix)
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle (Richard X remix)
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle (Richard X remix radio edit)
TLC - Hands Up (Richard X remix)
Tiga - Hot In Herre (Richard X Presents The Gareth Gatex remix)
Louis Austen - Grab My Shaft (Richard X remix)
Nine Inch Nails - Only (Richard X remix)
Nine Inch Nails - Only (Richard X dub)
The Bravery - Fearless (Richard X remix)
The Bravery - Fearless (Richard X dub)
Gwen Stefani - Cool (Richard X remix)

The NIN remix is awful, not feeling the Prince Po either - he doesn't seem to do as well outside of pop and electro. Couple of mixes I've not heard there (Louis Austen?) so off to the YSI thread I go.

It'd be good to get which tracks he produced by various girl groups if anyone knows which. And I guess we could include his own album and all the Girls On Top stuff.

Does anyone know what happened to that (gorgeous) girl group he was said to be working with 18 months ago? They were called the Real Heat, they did a cover of Alexander O'Neal's 'Criticise' when I saw them live and they were quite brilliant. Also, didn't he ask people to apply to become part of a new girlband he was creating, what happened to that?

And there's a big list here...

He's been busier than I thought.

I've never heard the Louie Austen track - I love the description on Discogs...

A1 All instruments & additional production by Richard X, additional vocals by Marie
A2 Male rap by Nuwalker, Scratches by Bamboo

B1 Reproduced & mixed by Trevor Jackson for The Playgroup, Output Recordings 2003. Edit by Johnny Showbiz.
B2 Remix & additional production by Fattruckers
B3 Vibes by Philip Flip, Upright Bass by August Enkilde

Vibes and Upright Bass - I need that track...

There's a radio edit of "Enjoy the silence" in addition to the full mix, for what it's worth.

Not very famous, but VERY good, his remix of "Snake" by Atomizer. It's in the "Presents His X-Factor" vein, a brother to his own "Being Nobody". Thankfully, it can be downloaded for free from Atomizer's website.

IOW, it also sounds like 'Hands Up'?

The Prince Po one is good, Ian, don't be afraid to get crunk. The dancehall ones are his weak point - 'Freak Like Me's not bad, but 'Goodies' should have been marked "Return To Remixer". 'Grab My Shaft' is hot, but I don't have a full version.

Discogs doesn't have his stuff on Come And Get It or the remixes on Rachel singles...

the freeform five one is SO GOOD.

the 'cool' rmx is v christmassy.

The Lex (The Lex), Sunday, 11 December 2005 17:08 (twenty years ago)

The Freeform Five mix is amazing, yes.

As for dancehall, I never heard the Goodies remix but I think "Amazon" is one of the best things he's done.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 11 December 2005 22:22 (twenty years ago)

The FF5 one is very good. Not that into his stuff generally tho, just don't see the point!

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 11 December 2005 22:26 (twenty years ago)

i really like that NIN remix.. a little cheesy but still fun

el sov panda, Monday, 12 December 2005 02:10 (twenty years ago)

The Atomizer "remix" is just a mashup with 'Hold Dat'.

BARMS, Monday, 12 December 2005 09:20 (twenty years ago)

A Richard X mashup is never *just a mashup*!!!

Diego Valladolid (dvalladt), Monday, 12 December 2005 09:23 (twenty years ago)

The atomizer one isn't an official one i'm afraid...

Interested parties can see all the remixes et al at http://www.blackmelody.com/x_releases.html
