Mad On Acid: A Comprehensive History Of Acid House Music

mad but not music ElectroJosh from Chicago
An entire album of what is basicly samples. One the of the ten worst I've downloaded this year. This music will hurt you, and not in a good way.

jcartledge (jcartledge), Monday, 12 December 2005 00:54 (twenty years ago)

I am not ElectroJosh

jcartledge (jcartledge), Monday, 12 December 2005 00:55 (twenty years ago)

no more filter sweeps ok

kephm (kephm), Monday, 12 December 2005 01:09 (twenty years ago)

making an "mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" sound with your mouth closed and lips pursed and then slowly opening your mouth and closing it again, whilst pretending to turn a small rotary dial 270 degrees.

That will seriously never get old for me.....

danny boy, Monday, 12 December 2005 01:55 (twenty years ago)

speaking of the squelch, anyone heard les visiteurs 'pharell's acid drop'? fantastically squelchy.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Monday, 12 December 2005 03:02 (twenty years ago)

Enough with the distorted guitars already.

viborgu, Monday, 12 December 2005 03:04 (twenty years ago)

"WHOS JACKING OFF ALL IN HERE"
"I'M JACKING OFF ALL IN HERE"
"WHOS JACKING OFF ALL IN HERE"
"I'M JACKING OFF ALL IN HERE"

"WE'RE ALL JACKING OFF ALL IN HERE"

YSI, please.

viborgu, Monday, 12 December 2005 03:58 (twenty years ago)

YO CUTTY: THAT BEARDO IS USING THE ROLAND 202 AKA "POOR MAN'S 303"

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Monday, 12 December 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

yeah, that les visiteurs remix fucking kills me, one of my top 10 singles of the year. brilliant in its own right, but also one of the year's better acid selections...

philip sherburne (philip sherburne), Monday, 12 December 2005 18:19 (twenty years ago)

less acid?

no.

more Jesus Juice!

jsoulja (jsoulja), Monday, 12 December 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Monday, 12 December 2005 20:32 (twenty years ago)

¯\(O_o)/¯ (mookie wilson), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

So this is definately "Pharrel's Acid Drop", not Snoops?
If it is indeed a new Les Visiteurs track, please could someone YSI it, I would love to c-c-c-check it out.
P.S. ACID MUSIC NEVER DIES
P.P.S. Especially when the 303's are well distorted - Beverly Hills 808303 baby

Debord (Debord), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 17:52 (twenty years ago)

I don´t know which Les Visiteurs track this one is, pharrel´s or snoops, but it has squelches allright.
http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0PDBLV8JFTFPK1FNQXB0CH2HWF

I only like squelches when it´s not used in the acid context. I´m bored with cowbells.

silas (silas), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

I mean when it´s used in the acid context.

silas (silas), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

I have vowed never to use the handclap, nor the cowbell on my 808.

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:12 (twenty years ago)

oinkfan (wolves), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

>:(

Yawn (Wintermute), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

Nevermind, it was a stupid question, I know what filter sweeps are. I just wanted to read somebody's attempt to describe 'em! I remember that ancient videogames used them all the time for those generic sci-fi sound fx. (Back in the day when synths were too primitive to convincingly sound like anything other than synths.)

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:44 (twenty years ago)

that's snoop's acid drop, silas.

pharell's is of 'can i have it like that'.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Well bang it out then badboy!

Debord (Debord), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 08:55 (twenty years ago)

have we figured out who's behind these 'acid drop' records? is it robert babicz?

heywood jablomi (heywood), Thursday, 15 December 2005 19:02 (twenty years ago)

it's boris dlugosch.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 15 December 2005 22:48 (twenty years ago)

http://www.discogs.com/artist/Les+Visiteurs+(2)

boris dlugosch, michi lange, tommie sunshine

(though i think that tommie sunshine is misrepresented, as i think he just guested on time slide by, no?)

firstworldman (firstworldman), Thursday, 15 December 2005 23:16 (twenty years ago)

yeah reckon so.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 15 December 2005 23:17 (twenty years ago)

Word is that it's a fake history, all the tracks have actually been produced in the last couple of years.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 29 December 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

All the aliases are Atom Heart btw, and there is pretty much no difference in sound from the first track to the last one.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Thursday, 29 December 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

the best and only acid track that anyone actually needs is "groovy bitch" by Miss DJax from Trance Europe Express Vol. 4

has uwe schmidt done anything worthwhile since his cover albums? The LB pop record and the Baile Aleman thing?

TOMBOT, Thursday, 29 December 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

thanks for spoiling the joke >:\

Did anyone else listen to Swag's "Bad Acid" (MFF) mix from this year? It really has turned out to be an absolute favorite...

paulhw (paulhw), Thursday, 29 December 2005 22:30 (twenty years ago)

yup, uwe has done lots of great stuff since the lb record. oodles in fact.

i think the first volume (as the vinyl was split across two) of his acid tracks was the better onem
