Pescado Rabioso - Artaud

This just got re-issued. Has anyone heard it? Here's the Other Music description:

"Though credited to his defunct band, "Artuad" was essentially a solo record from Pescado Rabioso's Luis Alberto Spinetto. A pinnacle LP for 1970s Argentinean folk-rock, Spinetto eschewed his earlier prog rock leanings with this gorgeously laid-back album."

anyone that names their album after artaud can't be all that bad.

I don't know this album but I don't like anything I heard by Spinetto, neither by his band nor his solo stuff. Along with Charly Garcia, he's a revered figure of Argentine rock nacional but, to my mind, that stuff tends to take the worst (yes, worst) elements of Yes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd King Crimson and churn it together in an unlistenable mash.

seven months pass...
Pescado Rabioso is good. Artaud is good. I'm also partial to the first one, Desatormandanoslos or something.

The only Spinneta I feel that's been disappointing to me was the Invisible record. It's not awful, but it's not nearly as good as the other stuff. I haven't heard his post-Almendra/pre-Pescado solo record though; I'd really like to.

seventeen years pass...

Can’t believe this album has its own thread, nor that the name Luis Alberto Spinetta is misspelled throughout. Nor that nobody mentioned the weird shape of the original album cover.

Believe “Bajan” is the best known song, maybe because Gustavo Cerati recorded it. Sometimes Luis Alberto would have Gustavo come on stage and just let him sing it, even when he exhibits a rare touch of hoarseness as here:

I wonder how much Spinetta there is in the Netflix Fito Páez docudrama.

the little guitar riff in 'cementerio club' that acts as the chorus is the most emotive riff i've ever heard

i think cerati agrees with me cuz he quoted that riff live sometimes
