Coldest: Kraftwerk - "Radioactivity",Joy Division - "Atmosphere".I realise those are somewhat expected examples, but they sound icy and wintry,it's not because they imply austerity. Also Eno when working with Harold Budd or dedicating songs to him,and parts of Kid A.Hottest: Flying Saucer Attack - the guitars sound like burning,to paraphrase Ralph Wiggum.

Cold: John Cale
Hot: James Brown.

When both clash in my stereo, my body falls apart. This happens so rarely. Slayer "reign in blood" occasionally rips off my head, chews on it and then sticks it back on.

"I'm off the thermostat / PLUS I'm comin from the cold, yo" - Kardinal Offishall talkin about Toronto

Pretty cold = Microphones circa It Was Hot...

Pretty hot = Ween circa Chocolate and Cheese.

Nitsuh, Saturday, 2 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually, I take that back. Microphones are about as cold as a big empty apartment, in winter, with the radiators broken and one too many windows left cracked open. The Ween stuff I'm thinking of is just sort of pleasantly, tropically warm, but not burning-hot.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (gig a few hours ago)= the warmth of a retro fake fur jacket.

helenfordsdale, Saturday, 2 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)
