Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 15 December 2005 10:15 (twenty years ago)

2. tAtU - Not Gonna Get Us

Heartbreaking.

Turangalila (Salvador), Thursday, 15 December 2005 10:16 (twenty years ago)

I think top 10 might have been more realistic...

Ned T.Rifle (nedtrifle), Thursday, 15 December 2005 10:57 (twenty years ago)

Jane Siberry and k d Lang - Calling all angels

Terrific track. I'm of course making a presumption about Jane Siberry which may not be true.

Ned T.Rifle (nedtrifle), Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:04 (twenty years ago)

So that would be No.3 (if you include tatu - which...er...is dubious...).

Ned T.Rifle (nedtrifle), Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:04 (twenty years ago)

4. Antony & Boy George - You Are My Sister

StanM (StanM), Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:27 (twenty years ago)

kd lang and elton john - teardrops

The Other Kate (papa november), Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:27 (twenty years ago)

Boy. I find it much easier to think of great duets in which only one of them is queer:

Mark Eitzel and Paula Frazer - Rhymes of Goodbye
Lost Girls [Heidi Berry w/ Patrick Fitzgerald of Kitchens of Distinction] - Giant Steps
Marc Almond and Nico - Your Kisses Burn
George Michael and Aretha Franklin - I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)
Kristin Hersh and Michael Stipe - Your Ghost

In this context, almost anything by the B-52's even counts, since both Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson are queer-identified. (Plus anything where Ricky Wilson sang... perhaps "Song for a Future Generation" is the penultimate pick here.)

Stretching the rules further, I'd nominate great queer singing DUOS like Tegan & Sara ("Downtown") or Two Nice Girls ("I Spent My Last $10 On Birth Control & Beer") ...

Myke Weiskopf (Myke Weiskopf), Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:44 (twenty years ago)

speaking of george michael:
george michael & elton john - don't let the sun go down on me

crab people, Thursday, 15 December 2005 11:54 (twenty years ago)

Elt and Rupaul - Don't go breaking my heart.

The two soldiers at the end of "Privates on Parade" that do a flannagan and Allen song, they were gay in the film.

The fact that "What Have I Done To Deserve This" isn't number one makes this whole thread useless.

LeRooLeRoo (Seb), Thursday, 15 December 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

Dr Dre and LL Cool J- Zoom

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 15 December 2005 14:11 (twenty years ago)

Andy Bell and Jake Shears, "I Thought It Was You"

I've never heard it and I've read it's dull, but if we're ever going to reach 50 we can't be too choosy here...

National Roffle Association (Paul in Santa Cruz), Thursday, 15 December 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

Elton John/Eminem - Stan

Sym Sym (sym), Thursday, 15 December 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH @ SYM SYM....i was thinking the exact same thing when i read this thread.

Tynan DeLong (TynanTynan!), Thursday, 15 December 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

Gene Pitney w/ Marc Almond, "Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart"

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Friday, 16 December 2005 01:45 (twenty years ago)

Jane Siberry isn't a lesbian. Everyone thinks that because she played gay (sort of) in her break-out 'Mimi On The Beach' video. Confirmed this with a couple of friends that worked for her label, Sheeba, in Toronto.

The fact that "What Have I Done To Deserve This" isn't number one makes this whole thread useless.

anthony easton (anthony), Saturday, 17 December 2005 10:36 (twenty years ago)

Pansy Division & Calvin Johnson - "Jackson"

Unsure of Johnson's sexuality, but the song itself is most definitely queered.

Ben Dot (1977), Saturday, 17 December 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

Johnson is definitely straight

latebloomer: Deutsch Bag (latebloomer), Saturday, 17 December 2005 13:14 (twenty years ago)

We don't touch his bikini.

Myke Weiskopf (Myke Weiskopf), Sunday, 18 December 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)
