She rocks out to them wildly, has declared them her favorite band (this will change within a week, I assure you), and gives them extra props for collaborating with Girlschool.

Should I be perturbed (see "Jailbait")? Should Lemmy?

The thought of a five-year old digging Motorhead and Girlschool fills my heart with cheer and optimism for the future of Western Civilization. (Cue that adorable pic of Mark Grout's daughter yet again!) And by the time she's old enough to attend a concert unsupervised, I would assume that Lemmy will finally be retired - he'll be, like, 70! Plus, she'll have a new favourite by then anyways. So I wouldn't worry, except maybe for her hearing.

As well she should.

Might I suggest turning her onto HEADCOUNT (imaginge Motorhead meets Killing Joke, and all the fire-honoring glory such a merger would imply!)

Thank you Alex - and Myonga for the encouraging words. And the Headcount cover art will *not* be lost on her.

She really enjoys "Helen Forsdale" too, by the way.

hope for the future!

Tweeet! I can explain this -- check the track listing on the Spongebob Squarepants movie soundtrack...

Interesting, Ian... except she hasn't seen the movie.

Just what I needed - a plausible excuse for liking Spongebob! Tho I'm actually more of a Squidward fan.

my 10 year old son is a slipknot and iron maiden fan. he has now expressed an interest in cradle of filth, which me and my wife find amusing. my 9 year old daughter, however, likes bis, freezepop, ima robot and more recently killing joke among others. my 2 year old daughter, however, likes the wiggles but does sing-along to the ramones. hey ho let's go.

Last night my 4 year old said, "Dad, can we listen to The Stooges?"

Warms my heart it does...

I believe the children are our future.

You daughter has fine taste. Give her a cookie and thank her for her sagacity. Then explain what 'sagacity' is.
