RFI - Transmitter - NO WAVE/HIP HOP Band

I think they are from UK? US? They are a sort of no-wave-hip hop band. Am listening to the new Cherrystones mix and he put Transmitter on theire and he told me they were from the late 70s. Anyone have any info?
