A local record store photoshopped the Sgt. Pepper's album cover with the faces of musicians, and are having a contest to identify the most and get $500 worth of records. Care to take a shot?

(I suppose you could just enter it yourself -- I don't really need the records, but I am bored.)

Burroughs, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Dylan, Aldous Huxley, Karl Marx, MArlon Brando, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Ghandi....ummmmmm The four Beatles of course + Stu Sutcliffe in the back. That's all I can think of just looking at it. You should try googling it.

I think Roger Waters is hiding behind Lauryn Hill.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Friday, 16 December 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

looks like all the members of Boston, clustered around that afro at the top-left.

I also see Beck, Bob Marley, Don Johnson, Ghandi, Herman Munster?, Woodie Guthrie, Tom Waits, Bjork, .. And that guy next to Gabe Kaplan in the back looks familiar, but it's not clicking with me at the moment.
Felix the Cat.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 16 December 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 16 December 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

there appears to be a simpsons-esque clay model of mr. spock (leonard nimoy, not the pediatrician) in the back row.

vahid (vahid), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:06 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, Woody Guthrie. 52 is Billie Holiday, not Sarah Vaughan. Edith Piaf is in the top row next to Ghandi, and that's Sinatra behind Jimi's guitar. Is that Bjork behind Alfred E. Neumann?

moriarty (moriarty), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:34 (twenty years ago)

Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan behind Don Johnson.

moriarty (moriarty), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

i think that's giorgio moroder next to george harrison

willem -- (willem), Friday, 16 December 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

You mean in the bottom left?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 16 December 2005 23:15 (twenty years ago)

I have never seen a picture of Giorgio Moroder. Does he have a beard? I thought that was Castro.

That's Hugh Hefner next to Don Johnson, and Clarence Gatemouth Brown behind them, I think. Is that Blind Willie McTell next to Mike Tyson up near the top left? And I think the guy to the right of Tyson is Ty Cobb. Who's the football player? I'm pretty sure that's Bob Wills next to him, though, in the cowboy hat.

moriarty (moriarty), Friday, 16 December 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

Aw, I just submitted my answers, and those were like all the ones I was missing.

"The Internet has ruined contests like this and lyrics quizzes. :(
-- silent curmudgeon (ba...), December 17th, 2005."

What does that even mean? Was there this big graphic-puzzle solving community that worked in dignified solitude until computers came along?

Mugged Outside the Jabberjaw, 1993 (Bent Over at the Arclight), Saturday, 17 December 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

Some people can't handle it when they are no longer the only know-it-all in the room.

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Saturday, 17 December 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

Maybe 38 is Franz Kafka--colorized.
