my ten-yea-rold brother has discovered he likes Green Day-- i would like to support him in this since he seems to really enjoy the music, not just say so becuase it's cool among the fourth grade elite.

wanted to get him Dookie, but mom/dad/grandma etc wil totally flip out* when they hear all teh luyrics he's memorized. other than american idiot, is there anything edited? i've been looking online, but haven't found anything yet and time is getting a little low.

*there were some memorable converstions after he latched onto G. Love and the Special Sauce at 7. It was actually my mom's cd-- she didn't think he'd pick up on all the weed references, which he didn't, BUT GRANDMA DID. a flip-out much like the one when i shared my "Lola" playing headphones with him on a car trip. Dad didn't like that.

anyway. is there anything?

Erm- when my dad confiscated my Guns'N'Roses album full of swears, I just went out and bought another one with even more swears. I shouldn't worry too much- its supposed to make people flip out. Wouldn't buy him Green Day no matter how much he likes it, though.

buy him something worthwhile like....a bagel with some sausage on it. that shit be tasty like a mo'fo.

seriously though, you should get him that new ramones box set cause i want it. don't tell anyone, but i like to live my life through yout 10 year old brother.

for real's, you should get him something by the clash or that ramones box or some wire. that stuff be tight with spinna's

IIRC Walmart only stocks "clean" albums, so maybe you can check their website/store and whatever they sell is probably edited. But I echo everyone who is saying for God's sake while the child is still impressionable get him some better stuff to listen to.

"i tried to get him on the ramones once, but he said it was boring"

well then, you should give him away to the germans and let them feast on his eye's.

I can't imagine what's dirty about Green Day lyrics !

Can anyone provide a quick primer to GD nastiness ???
