80's Northern Soul or something?!?!?

I heard this song the other day at J. Crew and I'm going nutz trying to figure out what it is. It has a kind of early 80's, blue-eyed soul vibe. At first, I thought it was Dexys Midnight Runners but my research leads me to believe it's not. The part that sticks in my head is this little string riff. Totally British New Wave Motown kind of stuff.

I made an mp3 of what I can remember of the string part. It may be wildly inaccurate but please listen to it and see if you can help me:

What else sounds like Come on Eileen? I've been checking out some English Beat but I don't think that's it...

I think you are looking for ABC's "Look of Love" from their Lexicon of Love album:

Hey Guyz,
It's not "Look of Love." It's not as electro-y as ABC. Also, I think it's probably a single or some sort of minor hit because I felt like I'd heard it before. It's got the same vibe as early Style Council, Joe Jackson, "Our House" by Madness or "Come one Eileen"...I'm still going nutzz. Any more suggestions? Even just a band that played in that new wave soul style???
